What's wrong with this channel? I mean really? I'm greatful that they're pushing comic book/ superhero genre in the limelight but I think it's a bit pathetic that they're not even coming up with their own heroes. Rather, the station just greenlights stuff and then rip off everything.
Case in point: Kidlat; the Derek Ramsay starrer which looks uncannily like DC's Black Lightning.
If you're unfamiliar who this is based on, this is based on the DC character Green Arrow. A Justice League member and secretly Oliver Queen, a millionaire who operates in Star City. Going back to Robin Dude, I'm not really sure that this is going to be a TV series or it's a one-shot thing. What I do know is that it's the following:
- It's riding on the popularity of CW's 'Arrow' starring Stephen Amell, which is a more legit TV series based on DC's Green Arrow.
- I find it ridiculous that they took almost everything about the costume from the Smallville version of Green Arrow...
I'm actually surprised that they didn't even snag the same type of arrow and bow.
Honestly, I'm appalled with this. Oh and I smell a lawsuit, scratch that, I'm half wishing they get slapped with a lawsuit for this one.
Update 2: Yup it's a series apparently.
Robin Dude. pweh.
Do remember that Green Arrow was "ripped off" from Robin Hood. Every famous super hero is hardly original. So chill. Green Arrow in the new 52 looks more like a Green Hawkeye right now, which is funny since Hawkeye was considered a rip off of Green Arrow.
ReplyDeletedoes it have to be too obvious though? a few tweaks can help..
DeleteI hate new 52. I feels like wildstorm
Deleteaye estupido, inspired from is different from a rip off
Deletegreen arrow was inspired from robin hood
the crappy very pinoy pompous tasteless robin dude is obviously a rip off
Seriously, Avid? That has got to be the dumbest way to the path of least resistance. Yes, GA was inspired by RH but it has evolved over the years and has become an individual concept on it's own. Robin Dude is a flagrant and insulting carbon copy of a tv show that is currently out whilst RH was out for hundreds of years before being appropriated by the makers of GA.
ReplyDeleteGreen Arrow has obvious allusions from Robin Hood (wikipedia) but not a rip-off which would mean stealing. Green Arrow creator took inspiration from a movie serial, The Green Archer, based on the novel by Edgar Wallace (wikipedia) so i won't consider it a rip-off. However, patawarin naman, Robin Dude's costume is just one of the very obvious evidence of TV5 stealing the idea of Green Arrow, specifically CW's ARROW. Nakita mo naman siguro?
ReplyDeleteMaybe you can chill about this but not us. For me, it's not about Green Arrow, it's about seeing this happen makes us Pinoy uncreative and lazy and we just do shit for money. We can do better than this. If people like you keeps accepting this mentality created by mainstream media, the day would come that stealing concepts would be legalized too. And all of pinoys will be as dumb as you.
Isip-isip din.
..i think TV5 based their Kidlat character here: http://www.kapitankidlat.com/, but the color reference of this new Kidlat is more akin to the Black Lightning..
ReplyDeleteso whatever happened to the much bragged pinoy creativity and originality
ReplyDeletecolor schemes copied from static shock and black lightning a silly costume that can be afforded by a rural bloke? villains from ben 10 and some video games soundtrack from infamous
now another profanity inducing rip off robin dude whose costume is identical to smallville's green arrow ang daming kampon si bong revilla na tingin sa pilipino puro utak pinoy
