Arrow Action Figures Coming Soon from DC Collectibles

Gotta love the folks at DC Collectibles for actually listening and giving us what we want case in point, this nice two-pack featuring Oliver Queen/ Arrow (Stephen Amell) and Deathstroke.

Sad though that this is "island" Deathstroke and not Deathstroke from Arrow Season 2. Also you really can tell that the pack is a bit dated because the figure is still using the face paint/ war paint. Still its a nice addition to your Toy shelf.

The pack is already out and retails for give or take $50 from the WBShop.

Lemire's Justice League United Adds New Members, Flies off to Space

The upcoming Jeff Lemire written Justice League Canada gets a major facelift as announced today. The book will become Justice League United (which was reported months ago by Bleedingcool.com).

According to Newsarama, the book will be bouncing between the team's new headquarters in Canada to outer space and it's thanks to new member Adam Strange and his Zeta beam. The first story arc will also feature an established roster with former JLA-ers Star Girl, Martian Manhunter, Green Arrow with new members Animal Manm, Supergirl and Strange.

Thing about this is that the new version of Adam Strange isn't a space-McGyver but rather a science nerd that will share equal parts of heroism with his alien wife Alanna. Oh and the team will be visiting the planets Rann and Thanagar which might see the return of Hawkman into the fold.

Finally, the team will also introduce a new Canadian superheroine who joins the team shortly. We still don't know what she'll look like though.

Arrow Season 2 Promotional Poster Released

I'm amazed at how ARROW is really hitting all the right chords when it comes to touching base with fans. And now here it is with a new promotional poster for it's second season.

I haven't brought myself to finish the first season but I'm halfway through already. Need.to.find.time.

Also Felicity and Ollie (Stephen Amell) looks like a better pairing than the classic Oliver and Dinah.

ARROW Season 2 will be airing October 9.

Justice League of America # 5 Spoiler Review

Justice League of America # 5 review by Geoff Johns and Brett Booth. This review was done in partnership with Comicx Hub and Castle Geek

In this issue, Catwoman's not so dead after all, Martian Manhunter confronts the mysterious big boss of the "Secret Society". Steve Trevor and the rest of the JLA including Green Arrow and Star Girl team up to take down the Shaggy Man. Green Lantern Simon Baz also joins the team. We also find out that A.R.G.U.S. agent Chronos is the power source for the Society's teleporting mansion.

On the Geoff Johns: It took five issues for the slam bang action to really kick into full gear. I should be mildly annoyed by such a long time but I'm going to let it slip thanks to the satisfying fights all packed in this issue. The tease is also killing us. Johns had the good idea of answering some questions but leaving readers with more. Like who is that pale man calling the shots? Who is the man still in the shadows? Where did the the Society teleport to? Still great exposition.

On the JLA fights: I just loved all the fights here in this issue. the first round between Hawkman and the Shaggy Man was very painful to watch though. But the moment back-up arrived, things just went swell.

On the apparent death of Catwoman: It sucked and it's also a very predictable plot point (which was also very neatly discussed briefly in the Matt Kindt written backup story featuring Martian Manhunter). It also sucked that none of the conspiracy theories that were released and revealed were true. Too bad.

And yes, it was the Martian Manhunter...

On the art: I do not mean this as an offense but I would really wait each month for the release of Justice League of America with Brett Booth on art duties as opposed to seeing David Finch's work. Finch's work is fine and all but it really doesn't suit the story and the energy of a title such as this. In short, I'm officially a fan of Booth's work here in JLA. Want to see more.

Finally, I know we've already seen Doctor Light in the teasers for Trinity War but this is the first time he's really going to show how he plays ball with A.R.G.U.S...

Verdict: 8/10

TV5 is Ripping Off Green Arrow with Robin Dude

I screamed profanities when I browsed the TV this afternoon when they show this were about to premiere entitled Robin Dude. Based on what I saw, the guy was running around rooftops and I assume he's fighting crime in the barrios.

What's wrong with this channel? I mean really? I'm greatful that they're pushing comic book/ superhero genre in the limelight but I think it's a bit pathetic that they're not even coming up with their own heroes. Rather, the station just greenlights stuff and then rip off everything.

Case in point: Kidlat; the Derek Ramsay starrer which looks uncannily like DC's Black Lightning.

If you're unfamiliar who this is based on, this is based on the DC character Green Arrow. A Justice League member and secretly Oliver Queen, a millionaire who operates in Star City. Going back to Robin Dude, I'm not really sure that this is going to be a TV series or it's a one-shot thing. What I do know is that it's the following:

  • It's riding on the popularity of CW's 'Arrow' starring Stephen Amell, which is a more legit TV series based on DC's Green Arrow.
  •  I find it ridiculous that they took almost everything about the costume from the Smallville version of Green Arrow...

I'm actually surprised that they didn't even snag the same type of arrow and bow.

Honestly, I'm appalled with this. Oh and I smell a lawsuit, scratch that, I'm half wishing they get slapped with a lawsuit for this one.

Update 2: Yup it's a series apparently.

Robin Dude. pweh.

DC COLLECTIBLES TO RELEASE JUSTICE LEAGUE BOXSET PLUS MORE GREEN ARROW

The good folks at DC Collectibles will be releasing a complete boxset of action figures from the New 52 Justice League plus our first look at the New 52 Green Arrow.

IMHO this is going to be interesting especially since there's a big demand for these figures. This of course is part of the "We Can Be Heroes" initiative that DC Comics launched a few months ago.

Another sweet addition to these boxed set is the Jim Lee inspired Green Arrow. I don't know about you guys but I certainly love this wave of figures. Now bring out guys like the Atom and Hawkman!

New Still Image from CW's "Arrow"

The Green Arrow TV show is officially well underway with a new announcement from CW as well as a complimentary new image featuring Stephen Amell who plays Oliver Queen.

The new show will be part of CW's 2012 - 2013 lineup of shows and will air every Wednesdays in the US followed by the Supernatural season 8.

CW also shared a new synopsis of sorts for the TV show which really rubs like a modern day take on Green Arrow much like what the WB did with Superman ala Smallville.

After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. When he returns home to Starling City, his devoted mother Moira, much-beloved sister Thea, and best friend Tommy welcome him home, but they sense Oliver has been changed by his ordeal on the island. While Oliver hides the truth about the man he’s become, he desperately wants to make amends for the actions he took as the boy he was. Most particularly, he seeks reconciliation with his former girlfriend, Laurel Lance. As Oliver reconnects with those closest to him, he secretly creates the persona of Arrow – a vigilante – to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and restore Starling City to its former glory. By day, Oliver plays the role of a wealthy, carefree and careless philanderer he used to be – flanked by his devoted chauffeur/bodyguard, John Diggle – while carefully concealing the secret identity he turns to under cover of darkness. However, Laurel’s father, Detective Quentin Lance, is determined to arrest the vigilante operating in his city. Meanwhile, Oliver’s own mother, Moira, knows much more about the deadly shipwreck than she has let on – and is more ruthless than he could ever imagine.

While we're on the subject of "Arrow" heres a look at Amell in his Green Arrow garb.
