Easter Eggs and Stuff You Might Have Missed in Justice League # 4

Here are some of the things that you might not have seen or missed out when you read "Justice League" by Geoff Johns and Jim Lee.

Oh and since I'm tired of posting the Jim Lee cover, here's the variant cover done by Andy Kubert...

So last issue we find witness Cyborg's dad graft the prometheum nano skin on his injured son. JL # 4 shows the payoff for this risky decision as the skin instantly accepts Stone. What's amazing is the fact that Cyborg's internal systems automatically patches in to STAR Labs mainframe which lets the guy download a number of  projects.

If you read the dialogue, you'd read the following:

  • Will Magnus' RESPONSOMETER

  • Professor Ivo's A-Maze Operating System (AMAZO)

Another old school Justice League villain might be in the works, Amazo takes on the powers and the skills of each member of the Justice League he battles. He's got Superman and Wonder Woman's strength (to a certain extent), Green Lantern's mimicked power ring, and in some cases The Flash's speed.

Talk about a one man army.

  • B-Maze Operating System - Whu? Are we looking at twin Amazos here???
  • Ryan Choi's White Dwarf Stabilizer
It has implied in the past that Ryan Choi will be officially the Atom for the DCnU Justice League. This subtle easter egg actually reinforces the idea. Let's just hope he doesn't get murdered and stuffed in a matchbox just like the last life he led.

A Geoff Johns/ Cyborg Moment

Before Infinite Crisis really picked up, Johns was writing Teen Titans. In that book, the Titans had to battle a seemingly powerful Dr. Light. Almost all of the titans (both old and new) were beaten except for Cyborg who beat Light's ass with a weapon that's very similar to this one he just unleashed.

3. Aquaman - Weapons master

Arthur Curry displays his weapon mastery when he slices and dices the parademons. Oh and this is after he calls in a group of Great White Sharks to dismantle the first wave of parademons.

4. First Sign of Checkmate

I remember reading Checkmate and going "Oh Wow". Looks like there would be a new version of Checkmate soon to make an appearance in this brave new world. .

5. Darkseid beats the League

After appearing before the League, Darkseid easily dispatches the gang. Who's missing in this splash page? Why it's Cyborg of course. Which will lead to his cover appearance next issue...
