In the Near Future Quintin Quire Would Lead a Team of X-Men

The preview for Wolverine and the X-Men #4 features some new developments for the team together with a glimpse into the future of some of the students of Wolverine's Jean Grey School for Higher Learning.

This issue brings back more of the fun and the intrigue and mystery thanks to some blacked out spoilerific appearances. It also seems like things are getting back to normal with Kid Krakoa sleeping soundly and the rest of Wolverine's X-Men starting to get back to their roles as teachers in the new school.

Sadly for Toad, he's still the custodian/ Janitor for the entire school. Plus this issue is a complete book now that Doop and Deadpool make an appearance. Doop is obviously present on the page below while Deadpool appears together with the Uncanny X-Force kill crew in the last page for this preview.

Nice to see that Wolverine and the rest of his "faculty" still harbor some ill-feelings or grudges against Cyclops as evidenced by the dart board with Scott's mug on it.

The cyborg Deathlok also makes a different kind of appearance in this book acting as a guest resource speaker for the students. I do hope he sticks around because he can totally be an equivalent of source for Uncanny X-Men's Danger.

Since we don't have any dialogues that might totally ruin this preview, we can assume that there are a few pages that has been skipped because the preview page features an older X-Men team standing in the ruins of the X-Mansion. Broo the Brood seems to be checking out vital signs for Deathlok.

Plus check out what Quire is wearing in this future.... Yep, he definitely is wearing a Phoenix styled costume. Which harkens back to the idea that the young upstart mutant is also a candidate for being the bearer of the Phoenix force. ( See Phoenix Endsong and Phoenix Warsong).

Now if you haven't read Uncanny X-Force, you'd probably be surprised to know that the cloned Kid Apocalypse which Fantomex bred in the World has been given an official name together with a new lease on life. The blacked out portions of this preview seems to point out to the inclusion of Kid Apocalypse aka Genesis into the mix. If this were true then the team would not only be strong enough to defend themselves, but they can certainly consider themselves on par with Scott's Extinction team.
