Batman - The Dark Knight # 5 hosts the first ever on-page battle between the New 52 version of Superman and Batman.
I was mildly interested with this book when it came out but it seems like with the way things are going in terms of writing done by Paul Jenkins plus the art of David Finch, I might want to add this book to my "guilty pleasure" list together with Teen Titans.
This issue starts with the confrontation between Batman and Scarecrow. Scarecrow trumps the Bat (which I will forgive because this is the New 52 universe) and injects him with the same drug that made Two-Face and Clayface crazy in the last few issues...
I swear the dude is fricking crazy....
And then we get to see Superman...
Is it just me or are we all getting tired of seeing Superman being drawn with those red, heat vision eyes??
Again because Batman is out of character here, I'm going to forgive the creative team because of the way the story is being told. Plus we get a couple of pages of Batman and Superman beating the crap out of each other.
Best moment for this issue happens when Batman manages to hurt Superman. Sucks though that this isn't a sane Batman.
Gonna do a review for this later on Flipgeeks.
The fight wasn't much of a fight though. :))
ReplyDeleteCould they power down superman anymore!! Batman sent him flying. Also were they on a mission to make all the heroes smaller?
ReplyDeleteOk what happened to Batman's gauntlets? Why is Supes the size of Batman? He should be pretty big. He is Superman. Why does Superman always have heat vision at the ready now-a-days? Three questions this issue gave me. Still like it though.
