The issue is action packed and we get to see how cool Superman is. It's actually a Superman that I've been waiting to see for quite some time now. Plus we get to see an alternate timeline where Clark is married to Lois (which was retroactively removed from continuity)...
More importantly after dispatching Captain Comet, Superman tries to save the life of Lois Lane who was badly injured from AC # 11.
This was really cute but it but the idea of Superman using his superspeed and other vaunted Kryptonian skills was first seen in modern times during Mark Millar's SUPERMAN RED SON miniseries.
In this scene however, it took Millar to tell the same thing in just a single page. I'm positive that Grant Morrison could have done the same only that he wanted to make this development in Superman's life more appealing and more intriguing. I'm actually all for these two types of story telling and I certain wish that I can actually do the same thing.
There you go a classic example of two similar situations from two different artists. One ends happy the other becomes the catalyst for bigger and more intriguing challenges...
And since were talking about Grant Morrison and Mark Millar i'm really hoping that they got in touch with each other because these two can create really awesome stories and plots.
