Aquaman # 12 Spoilers - Death and Despair for the Other League

Spoilers for Aquaman # 12 from DC Comics by Geoff Johns and Ivan Reis.

This month's issue of Aquaman is the second to the last chapter to the cool "The Others" story arc which started with Aquaman # 7 (if I am not mistaken)... This issue is more action driven as we finally see Arthur's old team join forces in order to foil Black Manta and his evil schemes. Joining the fray is Arthur's wife/girlfriend Mera who was witness to Black Manta's abduction of supporting character Dr. Shin.

Four pages that spell wicked as are follows:

Mera jumps from the deep part to the sea and lands right on the open entrance of the Operative's plane... This woman is a pretty tough character, why she hasn't touched base with the Red Lanterns still confounds me. 

There's also that cool moment when Vostok does a last minute save when Manta tries to kill Aquaman with his new found weapon, the scepter that sank Atlantis.

Of course this means that Black Manta's playing for keeps and that he just pissed off Aquaman big time. After all he did kill other members of the league including the Seer. 

As for poor Vostok X, well he died. At least he died happy because his worst fears never materialized. He did not die alone.

I really hope we get a spinoff for these guys. Even if they don't include Aquaman anymore, this'll be a book that I'll pick up/review/spoil monthly. Hey, for all we know, they could play the part of the New 52 Challengers of the Unknown or even be the new DC Universe's "Planetary" peeps.

Oh and boo-hoo for us as we have to wait two months for more the finale for the arc as September will be the #0 month for all DC books.
