The biggest thing in Superior Spider-Man # 2 wasn't about the return of the old villain the Vulture but it's actually more of how this hybrid of Peter Parker and Otto Octavius reacted to a potential getting back with Mary Jane Watson.
SPOILERS AHEAD.
In this issue we find out that Otto has set his sights on MJ and that he sees her as a prize that Parker let go. So he figures that to be a truly Superior Spider-Man he needs to go and get the girl that got away. Problem is, he's fumbling and fumbling really bad. It gets to a point that he does something I'd rather not write and talk about. Then there's the subplot of these weird looking Vulture baby creatures that steal something from MJ's (the bar and the person) and they proceed to 'drop her off' in the middle of the street.
Spidey goes in for the rescue (with Peter guiding his body to not use a web line probably learning from his mistake with Gwen Stacy).
Awww. Dammit I thought we were going to see them back again. It looks like if its not going to be MJ it could be Carlie Cooper once more as the character is starting to get back into the limelight with her mean detective skills and her remembering something that Parker Octopus said in "Amazing Spider-Man # 700".
Oh the drama is killing me in this one. And for the record I still hate what they did to poor old Peter Parker.
