Batman # 19 SPOILERS

Spoilers for this week's Batman # 19 from DC Comics; written by Scott Snyder with art by Greg Capullo. It's a new arc and a new villain to boot for Batman who's still brooding about the fallout from Death of the Family plus the untimely death of his son Damian Wayne.

Here's the full cover for this month's Batman in case you haven't seen it...

Get the spoilers after the cut.

The issue opens with Gordon and Bullock tackling a hostage situation where Bruce Wayne figures in...

In one of the panels, Gordon even mentions that they go back to Zero Year which is an obvious allusion to the upcoming origin retelling by Snyder and the rest of the Batman creative team.  This evil Wayne escapes but not before gunning down Gordon with a shotgun and opening his suit to reveal a Batman costume underneath his civvies.

Then we get a flashback as we see Bruce Wayne foiling an attempt at the Falcone family by the Reaper who makes his transition from the old 52 to the New 52.

Which also happens to be one of the more recent missions Batman had with his son Damian Wayne aka Robin. That's pretty sad and pretty nice considering how Snyder wants to give us a new Robin

Batman also gets sucked in to a new mystery which he solves. He also finds out that baddie Clayface is behind this.

In Wayne Tower, Clayface gets close to Bruce Wayne by pretending to be Lucius Fox, when the time was right, we see him attack Wayne.

VERDICT: 10/10

Totally impressed by this, Snyder and his team is back in fighting form.
