Of course I cannot thank Dexter enough for this amazing and freaking awesome Assassin's Creed print he gave me. THANK YOU MUCH BRO!
So let's see; arrived at around 5 or 6pm and the place was still packed with familiar and new places and they were all talking about one thing and one thing alone, COMICS.
Hub's owner Lawrence Sol Cruz was also there for the fun talking to both new and old customers alike. Heck I even spotted Spider-Dan Geromo in the crowd hanging around.
For everybody's safety we refuse to divulge Dan's identity. He did however get his copy of Superior Spider-Man #6AU signed...
Of course we weren't there to just buy comics and other merch we were there to see the master doing his craft. The thing about Dexter is while he's amazing with digital art, he's just as good with the standard pen and paper. Ever since I dropped in, the guy never stopped sketching, he did pause once in awhile to catch up with whatever discussion is going on with the crowd or to talk to fans or ask for the next commission order.
A staple during these events in the Hub is a giveaway/ raffle session. I skipped on this one mainly because I didn't carry enough dough, still it was a nice reflection of how the Filipino comic book community has grown in the past decade.
They gave away a couple of stuff that evening including a very cool looking Spider-Man splash that was exclusively done by Dexter for the event...
As well as a wicked Magneto print...
Unlike Dex's last signing session in Comicx Hub, this time the prints were very limited with one focusing primarily on Mr. Soy's first Marvel gig, Captain Marvel with Kelly Sue DeConnick.
It was a pretty fun raffle with Dex and later Spider-Dan joining moustachioed Lawrence in front to draw the lucky
There's also a ton of blank covers being drawn on and here's a sample with Ericus whose a proud owner of this nice custom cover. .
