CASTLE GEEK OPENS GLORIETTA BRANCH THIS SATURDAY

Starting this Saturday, June 1, all geeks would rejoice for there is another addition to where they can get their weekly fix of comics, toys and other collectibles as it opens their second branch at the New Glorietta Wing over at the recently opened Glorietta in Makati City.

CASTLE GEEK Glorietta opens its doors this weekend carrying mainstream and independent international comics from publishers such as DC, Marvel, Vertigo and Image among others.

“We’re very happyin adding another location to the growing CASTLE GEEK family of shops” says Lawrence Sol Cruz, Head for Operations of SunCross Communications Inc, trademark owner of CASTLE GEEK and COMICX HUB – the first and largest online comic shop in the country.

Aside from new releases of Comics and Graphic Novels weekly the shop will also carry various lines of toys and collectibles from notable brands such as DC Collectibles, Funko, Play Arts, Mezco, Diamond Select and more. From action figures, statues, comic-related merchandise including convention exclusives from San Diego Comic Con and New York Comic Con. CASTLE GEEK Glorietta will be the front runner in providing exclusive merchandise that are very hard to find locally.

“We work hard in establishing partnerships globally so we can bring in merchandise that are of high exclusive value” adds Lawrence “You will find items here that are only sold in comic conventions abroad and with the opening of our new store here in Glorietta, these will be more accessible to everyone”.

CASTLE GEEK will also feature an exclusive shelf dedicated to local independent comics coming from various self-published Filipino comic writers and artists. They intend to support the local comic scene by showcasing their talents and work monthly via its “Featured Indie Comic for the Month” program.Starting with Andrew Villar’s AMBUSH COMICS OMNIBUS this Saturday they have lined up Independent Comics to be showcased up until early next year and looking at their calendar they’re pretty booked with activities that aim to create buzz for the industry.

Part of this Saturday’s celebration includes guest appearances of international comic artists, book signings of Rod Espinosa’s Steampunk Snow White, PeeJayCatacutan’s Xenoglyphs and Andrew Villar’s Ambush Omnibus. Plus, the much awaited launch of Brian Wood and Olivier Coipel’s X-MEN #1 from Marvel Comics that will be celebrated by CASTLE GEEK through a launch party with exclusive deals and offers, not to mention the special appearance of The Philippine X-Men Team.
