Let's play fashion police for this new costume shall we?
FOOTWEAR
The ninja shoes from the previous/ original design is gone (remember the toe spike? gone). I never really saw the sense for that design. Sure it was practical, but come on, this guy has the power to stick to walls. That would be like adding a trunk to a normal elephant. These new footwear I fancy because it's built with travelling in mind. Remember Spider-Man's adventures can lead him from the rooftops of New York to sewers or even the Savage Land.
COLORS
The suit's color is black. I think that's a good progression (at least for the Dr. Octopus/ Superior Spider-Man iteration). Aesthetically, this makes Spidey a more menacing looking hero. Somebody not to be trifled with. It also means that the webcrawler has a more darker and grim outlook, something that wouldn't be noticed by his teammates in the Avengers until the very last moment.
WEBSHOOTERS
I don't know about you but the redesigned costume featuring the webshooters outside of the costume is a good thing. I was a sucker for the Ben Reilly Spidey costume and that featured the webshooters outside the suit. It's pretty biased I know but I just like the design. Also I noticed that the webshooter itself has changed looking more like a small vambrace plus it looks to me like it carries twice the amount of web fluid as Parker's version of the webshooter.
Overall, I'm all good with the redesign for the Superior Spider-Man. What confounds me is how similar it is to the design for Miles Morales' Ultimate Spider-Man costume.
I also couldn't help but notice that this heavily borrows some design elements from that failed Alex Ross Spider-Man project.
Regardless, I'm fine with this one and can't wait to see Spidey/Doc Ock go to war against his rogues in this new suit. What do you think? Answer the poll below and lets discuss as well
