In the story she takes over the mantle from her aged grandfather Doctor Ulshade (Shigeru Chiba) which also means that she becomes the partner for the Voltasaur Plezuon (which was pretty damn cool back in episode 20).

This also marks the second female character in this series. I really did find it sucky that there's a lack of female characters in this series. In fact I've already accepted the fact that it might just be Ami aka Kyoryu Pink that ends the series. Luckily this announcement came by.
Now waiting for those fan fics about King and Yayoi.
