Into the Wild and Bigger Adventure in Rio 2

Carlos Saldanha, who co-directed and directed the global blockbuster “Ice Age” movies had long wanted to write a love letter to his hometown of Rio. From his imagination came a story about a nerdy, highly domesticated bird who goes on the adventure of a lifetime in that wondrous city that produced the highly successful “Rio” movie released in April 2011 that became a worldwide smash with almost $500 million at the global box office.

Now, his lead characters Blu and Jewel voiced by Jesse Eisenberg and Anne Hathaway are back in “Rio 2” for a grandeur adventure into the wild with the Nigel the villain at their trail. To fully realize the scope and breadth of this magical world and its vivid characters, Saldanha brought together an all-star voice cast, led by Oscar® nominees Anne Hathaway and Jesse Eisenberg, Oscar and Grammy®-winner Jamie Foxx, acclaimed musical artist will.i.am, actor-musician Jemaine Clement, comedic actress Leslie Mann, actor Rodrigo Santoro (a Brazilian native), actor-comedian George Lopez, and funnyman Tracy Morgan.

Watch Trailer Two of Gareth Edward's Godzilla

Here's the trailer for Godzilla directed by Gareth Edwards who also did the classic Monsters. This truly takes the classic novelty of kaiju films and turns it sideways. And yes, it does have this 'terrifying' vibe to it.

Check out the trailer after the cut.

Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul Has a Need for Speed (Opens Mar 12)

In DreamWorks PicturesNeed for Speed,” a gear-grinding drama set in the world of underground street racing, Aaron Paul plays Tobey Marshall … a role that almost wasn’t his.

The actor had just wrapped production on the final season of the critically acclaimed TV series “Breaking Bad” where he plays Jesse Pinkman when he auditioned for the film. But the filmmakers were interested in casting him not as Tobey Marshall, but as Dino Brewster, Tobey’s adversary. Director Scott Waugh (“Act of Valor”) knew for certain that Paul was their Tobey, but there were some concerns he might be perceived as too edgy because of his “Breaking Bad” association.

For Paul it was déjà vu, as six years earlier he’d had a similar experience during casting for “Breaking Bad.” At that time, there had been someone (the show’s creator and executive producer Vince Gilligan) who desperately wanted to cast him for a certain role (Jesse Pinkman) and there had also been some opposing views (executives at AMC felt he was too good looking to play a meth dealer).

Greek Armies Unite Vs Invaders in 300: Rise of an Empire

Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures present “300: Rise of an Empire,” a bold new chapter in the “300” saga, hitting Philippine theaters nearly a decade after its 2006 predecessor, the Greek epic “300,” took the world by storm.

Based on Frank Miller’s latest graphic novel “Xerxes,” and told in the breathtaking visual style of the blockbuster “300,” this new chapter of the epic saga takes the action to a fresh battlefield—on the sea—as Greek general Themistokles attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge that will change the course of the war.

Youtube Group Sensation Directs Devil's Due

There’s the traditional route to a directorial debut; camcorder obsession, film school, an internship, personal assistant, directorial assistant, the keys to the store. And then there’s Radio Silence, a collective of four talented filmmakers who used YouTube to learn their craft, post their clips and advertise their wares with so much professional aplomb that Fox made all their dreams come true.

Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gillett, Justin Martinez and Chad Villella grew from the ashes of the former group known as Chad, Matt & Rob, three friends who had an idea, a camera, some technical expertise – much of it gleaned from YouTube tutorials –and got to work. Their breakout was Alien Roommate Prank Goes Bad, a found-footage style short they posted in February 2008; as of today, it’s been viewed more than 32 million times.

When Rob Polonsky left the group, they were joined by Justin and Tyler, reformed as Radio Silence and continued their YouTube domination, moving into a series of ‘interactive adventures’, narrative shorts in which the viewer guided the plot. Ultimately, however, they had ambitions beyond on-line media.

Ariel Winter, one of Hollywood’s most promising young talents with notable roles both television and film who currently stars on ABC’s critically acclaimed and Emmy winning hit series, “Modern Family” stars in DreamWorks’ wild-action-family-adventure “Mr. Peabody & Sherman (3D).”

Monster Comedy "A Little Bit Zombie" In Cinemas This February 26

From a seemingly harmless mosquito bite, a groom-to-be fights his fate turning into a zombie in the outrageous comedy “A Little Bit Zombie” starring Kristopher Turner as Steve, Crystal Lowe, Shawn Roberts, Kristen Hager and multi-talented actor Stephen McHattie.

“A Little Bit Zombie” had recently been awarded as Best Feature Film in several film festivals in the U.S., Brazil and Canada. The movie’s misadventures start when Steve (Turner), a mild mannered HR manager becomes infected with a zombie virus at his bachelor party. Unknown to Steve, his infection came from the farther part of the secluded forest where he’s celebrating and where undead exterminator “Shotgun” Max (McHattie) and his bookish assistant, Penelope, are snuffing out a zombie outbreak at the same time. Max relishes killing zombies, as Penelope squeamishly uses the ancient Orb of Conthulezbarr, a crystal sphere filled with blue energy, to locate the undead. During the battle, a mosquito bites one of the zombies and becomes infected. It escapes the bloodbath and flies out onto the open road where … splat … it is crushed on Steve’s car windshield.

Will Nick Fury Die in Captain America: The Winter Soldier?

The second TV spot for Marvel Studios' Captain America: The Winter Soldier is giving us the idea that Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) will most likely die in the movie.

Watch TV Spot # 2 for Captain America: The Winter Soldier below:

He said it. He actually implied that Jackson's Nick Fury dies. But that didn't happen in the comic book version. Also I'm counting how many movies has Jackson appeared as Nick Fury and it doesn't make sense. :(

But truth be told, it's really unlikely that they'd be taking out Nick Fury so early in the game. Marvel knows that Fury's appearance holds cohesion for the Marvel Cinematic Universe so why are they planning to take him out? Agent Coulson's role has been diminished since Marvel's The Avengers so now more than ever we need Fury.

Still I'd watch this badboy. I'm already rooting to see "The Twins"

Captain America: The Winter Soldier opens April 2 and distributed locally by Walt Disney Studios.

The Breakout Stars of "Need for Speed" Race to Fame

DreamWorks Pictures’ “Need for Speed” (opening in the Philippines on March 12) boasts a cast of talented actors who are quickly becoming Hollywood’s next generation of stars: Aaron Paul, Dominic Cooper, Imogen Poots, Scott Mescudi and Dakota Johnson.

Aaron Paul

“Need for Speed” marks an exciting return to the great car culture films of the 1960s and ’70s, when the authenticity of the world brought a new level of intensity to the action on-screen. Tapping into what makes the American myth of the open road so appealing, the story chronicles a near-impossible cross-country journey for our heroes — one that begins as a mission for revenge, but proves to be one of redemption.

The Purge Sequel Announced - The Purge: Anarchy

Universal Pictures has released the first poster and images for writer/director James DeMonaco's horror thriller “The Purge: Anarchy,” the sequel to last year's surprise hit “The Purge.”

The follow-up continues the plot device from the first film in which all crimes are legal on one day of the year, during the annual “Purge”, which preserves peace and prosperity for the other 364 days of the year. This time, instead of another home invasion, the sequel will be going beyond the confines of a shelter and watching characters struggle to survive the night.
