This is issue was like a must-have for all the Psylocke fans especially will all the cool character moments that we see here.
But before that here's a little treat for all the fans of Deathlok. The murdering cyborg mercenary once again makes his appearance in this X-book after being relocated to the JGSHL after the events of the Dark Angel Saga.
The only problem is that this Deathlok waited for them 30 years in the future. Its not ruined nor post-Apocalyptic. If anything it looks really clean. Oh and the skies are protected by the likes of Cable and Hope Summers and even The Punisher.
Anyway going back to Psylocke, Betsy shows how much powerful she is when she hijacked the mind of the dying mutant Gateway to transport them away from Ultimaton who went on self-destruct mode with after the death of Fantomex.
In the future, everything seems to look okay only for them to find out that this is actually a society based on the basic principles behind X-Force which is to pre-emptively kill threats to mutants. And since this is a society based on 'Force you don't have to look around too much to find one or two mutants from X-Force to be leading the charge.
In this case however, it is revealed to Betsy Braddock herself who seems to be running the show. When 616 Present Betsy finds out about this, she leaves the fight to slowly do "the right thing".
So wait are we really going to expect them to just kill off Psylocke that easily?
Anyway, I like this issue. What I hated about the whole book now is Remender's tendency to send this killer elite squad to alternate universes just to be able to do their thing. I would be okay with the team chasing Dark Beast to the AOA dimension but after the "Dark Angel Saga" they were then sent to the Otherworld where they had to help out the Captain Britain Corps and execute Jamie Braddock.
Now it seems like the team is sent again to another reality where they have to win their way back to the current time line.
I like the art done by Totino Todesco. One question I want to ask was whether or not Jerome Opena would be providing art once again. It seemed like that would be a longshot now provided how many artists has taken over art chores for the book. That said I enjoyed the book thanks to the work provided by Todesco. Sorry na lang for fans of Greg Tochinni but the art improved drastically after the Otherworld arc (which I don't plan on buying anytime soon).
