New Covers for Fantastic Four, FF, Indestructible Hulk and Deadpool

... and they're all in # 1 form nonetheless.

Indestructible Hulk # 1 will be written by Mark Waid with art by Filipino pride Leinil Yu. This is pretty interesting especially since we're seeing something familiar and strange for this "new" Hulk.

For one he's now wearing shorts with a belt. He's also sporting a new hairdo (assuming that this is because he's currently a bald green goliath in Aaron's run) and he's also got a weird floating robotic sidekick to boot.

The last time I saw the Hulk hanging around with a metallic and spherical robot was in the epic "Hulk: The End" book.

Meanwhile there's also Matt Fraction and Mark Bagley bringing back Marvel's fist family in Fantastic Four # 1...

According to the premise that Marvel shared, the book will follow the adventures of Marvel's first family across the universe (much like The Beatles song). The adventure will last for a year for the team but in real time, they'll only be gone for a good 4 minutes. That's so cool. If I think about it, its the same thing that happens in this week's issue of Fantastic Four (Fantastic Four # 609 by Hickman)...

In the case where something goes wrong, the Fantastic Four also left the Baxter Building and the rest of the world under the care and protection of the new "FF" team. The book will be written by Matt Fraction again with the art chores handled by Mike Allred (X-Statix)...

The team consists of She Hulk (Jennifer Walters), Ant Man (Scott Lang), Queen Medusa of the Inhumans and Ms. Thing which IMHO is Dead Girl just wearing Ben's old "armor thingie" [get it?]...

According to reports this new team will step up and begin their adventure after the a one-eyed, one-legged Johnny Storm aka Human Torch steps out of a time portal asking for help. While that adventure will kick start, fans of Allred's work as well as previous FF fans should also wait for the encounter between Scott Lang and Dr. Doom (whom he blames for the death of his daughter Cassie Lang aka Stature)...

Finally the Marvel Now relaunch will also never be complete without a relaunched Deadpool book which features a new creative team.

Sadly long time Deadpool writer Daniel Way will be giving 'way' [ha!] to new writer Brian Posehn and Gerry Dugan together with new artist Terry Moore. If you're not familiar with Posehn and Dugan, these two guys are comedians and writers for a lot of comedy shows seen on TV including "The Sara Silverman Show" and Attack of the Shows.

The plot for the first story arc is pretty insane as well as dead US presidents start killing people in Washington D.C. and the Avengers, the FF or even the X-Men don't want to touch this little problem. So they enlist the aid of the Marvel U's resident 'Merc with a mouth' for this dirty lil task.

I'm all for these new books for all their uniqueness and quirkiness. I mean, 'Hulk' looks dead serious and when you pair the guy who made Daredevil such a good monthly together with the guy that Mark Millar praises so much, you'll definitely know its good.

Fraction's work on THOR and IRON MAN has shown us that he's well capable of developing sound plots and exciting stories. So that coupled with the Fantastic Four's rich history, you'll know that you're in for a good ride.
