1. Calvin Rose was around during Dick Grayson's 'Flying Graysons' Days
Apparently Rose was working side by side with the Flying Graysons for Haly's Circus around the time that Dick was already learning the ropes. Why we never encounter him in the other bat-books is still a mystery. I have a feeling however that Rose and Grayson will be meeting each other down the road especially in Nightwing and when the Court of Owls returns.
2. Calvin Rose is a killer
Rose took the mantle of the Talon after slitting the throat of the current Talon. It's a ritual and a vicious cycle for the assassins of the Court of Owls. This issue is also the return of the classic labyrinth where the Court trapped Batman during the first story arc.
3. He doesn't kill women and children
The talon goes rogue during his first mission where he was ordered to kill a woman and a child. Having too much violence he just gives up and 'heads for the hills', that is of course after taking the woman and child along for the ride.
I can definitely say that I'm getting this book and adding it to my digital pull list for Comixology.
