Actually it wouldn't be cool at all, more like cool followed by sarcasm and then a sudden realization that all free will is going the way of the dinosaurs.
This piece of interview gave me the idea:
“Another thing that is very important for the lifecycle is the transmedia offer. All the figurines, the books, the publishing, and we have a movie in the next coming year. So it’s not only about games, we are talking about a global brand, and this is the life cycle management we want to set up now,”
This statement was given by Geoffrey Sardin who is Ubisoft's chief sales and marketing officer.
So going back to my lame-brained theory:
Abstergo = Ubisoft
Templars = Assassins
Templars (bad) = Assassins (bad)
Assassins (good) = Templars (good)
(You still follow?)
What I'm trying to say is that, and its rather fun to think about, that Ubisoft is Abstergo Industries all along and that they are actually the Assassins in real life, only that their goal is the enslavement of man (Which gets automatically debunked by that long standing saying 'Nothing is True, Everything is Permitted'.
Anyway, this theory of mine also says that the Templars are the good guys and are getting the 21st Century smear campaign thanks to the game. To be fair to the Templars, they do have a video game that paints them as the good guys:
Sadly that too gets dismissed as a lame game.
In this little conspiracy theory that I have, let's also claim that the game is in fact a 'piece of Eden'.
Splinter Cell and much more. They did it pretty big with the first AC and they are continually upping the ante for the subsequent games.
Anyway this is simple an observation with a dash of conspiracy and done with humor and a little thought provocation in mind.
