How Did Doc Ock Swap Minds with Peter Parker in Amazing Spider-Man # 699?

The biggest question prior to the release of Superior Spider-Man # 1 is how the frack did Dr. Octopus switch minds with Peter Parker which is the central plot for the "Dying Wish".

Dan Slott wasn't lying when he stated that the seeds of the mind-swap had roots in ASM # 600. Last issue, Octavius managed to gloat over the dying Spidey in the Raft. In this issue, Parker fights back and tries to find out how this happened taking the readers along for the ride.

Ick.ick.ick. The bottom panel with Aunt May was a pretty icky moment but you have to remember that this really happened. Although I'm sure Spidey didn't want to know about that.

Going back to the main point, Slott did prove his point again in the next page when he reveals that Octavius was already mapping out Spider-Man's brain even during previous Spider-Man arcs such as "Ends of the Earth" and "Spider-Island".

But the kicker for all of this was the fact that he actually initiated the swap during Spider-Man's battle against the two Hobgoblins from two issues ago.

Which also gives us the reason why we keep on seeing that golden little octopus walking around and trying to catch up on Peter Parker.

Peter of course, doesn't give up. He tries to beat Ock by giving him a taste of his own medicine. To do so, he had to manually control the golden octobus drone and hack a computer to enact his failsafe...

Poor little Octodrone drops dead after sending the message to Ock's various associates and colleagues in the super villain community. What did this doe exactly? Well it apparently serves as a call to build or reform a new Sinister Six.

This new Sinister Six which includes Hydroman and the Trapster spring Parker out of the Raft. Once outside, Parker orders his new Sinister Six to locate Spider-Man and catch him alive.
