Some thoughts on this week's SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN # 15. Warning might contain spoilers.
I think I like this issue. There were somethings that IMHO was unnecessary or contrived but it's otherwise astounding. Long have I seen Superior as a book detailing the downfall of Spider-Man and the subsequent rise of Parker and with the recent issues I'm reading, can't help but chuckle knowing that I was partly right.
The issue revolves not so much on Slotto but more on Phil Urich who also happens to be Hobgoblin. We find out that (a) He's broke (b) he gets money from selling videos of himself and Spider-Man fighting (c) He's on Slotto's hit list for the mere fact that he survived the fall of Shadowland.
This is kind of a miss for me because Slott had a chance to tell us a really great story of Hobgoblin after the many changes in his life and instead everything's crammed tightly. Can't blame him though, this book is on a really tight schedule lately. Plus the fact that nobody really cares about Urich, the one-time "Good" Green Goblin.
To some extent this cover lied. Slotto never revealed those eight legged things on his back. We do find out who's been working on Hobbie's gear in this issue and that's something that falls under the category of 'meh'. Who cares whats happened to him. Although I need to track back to learn if this guy was also partly responsible for the Horizon Lab accident that created Alpha (blergh).
The issue's ending was pretty nifty. It's a mix between showing how low Otto Octavius has sunk ever since he inhabited the body of Peter Parker and it's also partly showing us the change in status quo for Urich who I can see will become a more permanent part of Spider-Man if he ever pulls through. The Spider-Man's murderous intent is also coming into a more public light which definitely will have bigger ramifications in the future.
RATING: B+

Avenging Spider-Man # 16 Spoilers - Superior Spider-Man Kicks Wolverine's Ass
Yes you read the title. It seems like Superior Spider-Man is waay better than Peter Parker in the way he handles fellow Avenger Wolverine as we'll see in "Avenging Spider-Man # 16" by Chris Yost and Paco Medina.
In this issue: A giant spider mutant wreaks havoc in NYC. Superior Otto-Spidey swings by to save the city and gets additional help from the X-Men.

Superior Spider-Man # 1 Spoilers - Spidey-Ock being a Perv and the Return of Peter Parker
I know I said that I won't touch Superior Spider-Man due to my hatred for the clusterfuck that was Amazing Spider-Man # 700 but the way my friend Kyle (who's busy maintaining the Superior Spider-Man facebook page) kept doing the hypebeast for the book got the better of me. So here I am now doing spoilers for Superior Spider-Man # 1 done by Dan Slott and Ryan Stegman.
So anyway, as always, SPOILERS ABOUND.

Marvel Aims to Fire the Superior Spider-Man
Marvel Comics has shared a new teaser image for the next story arc for the "Superior Spider-Man" and it's got the the words "FIRED" strewn across in a bold font face.
This also marks the official return of Humberto Ramos into the fold as we're going to be seeing more of Ryan Stegman's art for the first story arc for Superior. Writer Dan Slott is still in of course. As for the Avengers at the background, word on the street is that Spidey-Ock will be relieved of his Avengers membership card. Could it be because they've already figured out that something is wrong with the Amazing Arachnid or it could be that Octavius does something terrible that the Avengers can't possibly turn a blind eye.
Either way we all have to wait for April. And yeah, Superior Spider-Man still sucks balls. Bring back Peter Parker ya jerks!

Fuck You Marvel and Fuck You Too Superior Spider-Man
I guess at this point, its pretty much confirmed that the new Superior Spider-Man really won't be Peter Parker after Amazing Spider-Man # 700.
Honestly, I was already thinking of this a few weeks back ever since "Dying Wish" started in ASM # 698 but I did not want to think of this.
But since Marvel is already bitching how the supposed "biggest surprise" for 2012 has been leaked all over the Internet, might as well openly talk about it now.

How Did Doc Ock Swap Minds with Peter Parker in Amazing Spider-Man # 699?
The biggest question prior to the release of Superior Spider-Man # 1 is how the frack did Dr. Octopus switch minds with Peter Parker which is the central plot for the "Dying Wish".
Dan Slott wasn't lying when he stated that the seeds of the mind-swap had roots in ASM # 600. Last issue, Octavius managed to gloat over the dying Spidey in the Raft. In this issue, Parker fights back and tries to find out how this happened taking the readers along for the ride.

Amazing Spider-Man # 698 Probable Spoilers
Take the following image with a grain of salt because it hasn't been proven or confirmed but there's part of Amazing Spider-Man # 698 which will throw readers for a doozy.
Readers beware as this may or may not be a major spoiler especially with the impending release of Superior Spider-Man.

Spider-Man Smacks Some Sense into Al Gore
Ends of the Earth continues in Amazing Spider-Man # 683 with a Spider-Man smacking some sense into Nobel Peace Prize winner Al Gore.
If Mr. Gore would look for someone to blame, that'd be Dan Slott and Stefano Casselli. Kidding aside, I like the armor design but I have to say that Spidey looks more like Cobra Commander rather than the web-swinging, wise-cracking Avenger.
Does this mean Spidey won't be observing Earth Hour 2012? We have got to wait and see.
Oh and do check out the rest of the preview pages for ASM # 683 after the cut...

Getting Ready for Amazing Spider-Man's "Ends of the Earth"
Amazing Spider-Man #681 might have ended in a good way but it certainly teased what's in store for Peter Parker aka Spider-Man especially now that the Sinister Six are already gearing up for "Ends of the Earth".
The latest issue averted disaster for the Spidey who teams up together with Human Torch who was caught singing Rebecca Black's Friday.
