Uncanny X-Force # 35 - Touching Scene Between Deadpool and Genesis

A lot of great things have happened in the pages of Uncanny X-Force # 35 by Rick Remender with art by Phil Noto.

It's the final issue so rather than just laying all the great moments in one post, I'm making this a multi-parter. I'd like to savor the moment for a great finale and secondly I'd like to focus on the more in-depth character developments.

So let's first focus on the budding relationship between Deadpool and Evan aka Genesis aka Kid Apocalypse.

It starts with the segment where we Wade sneaks inside Evan's room just as Evan is reading a meditation book given by Logan.

It was good to see that we're already seeing glimpses of Evan finally accepting the fact that he is indeed Apocalypse. In the third panel, Evan states that Wolverine gave this to him in order to cope with what he had to endure in Final Execution. Just like to point out that in "New X-Men" we see Wolverine doing some za-zen meditation when Jean catches up on him.

The final panel shows Wade (who is now sporting his Marvel Now costume) telling Evan that now more than ever, he's proven that he's never going to be En Sabah Nur.

All the panels here sum up what we've all been trying to see in this character. He's obviously one of the most evil individuals in the 616 but being raised in a way similar to how Superman was raised showed that he is definitely a force for good.

Another great thing is the last panel here where the two hug it out... Some solid bromance here. Evan also calls Wade his 'hero' which obviously disarms the merc with a mouth...

That scene was totally funny. It's been a long time since we've actually seen Wade Wilson go speechless. The kicker to this whole scene in UXF # 35 was what Wade left for Evan (since he did hijack Wolverine's meditation book)...

You da man Wade. You da man.
