The Real Score with Uncanny X-Men's Magik ~ Spoilers

It would seem like Ilyanna Rasputin of the Uncanny X-Men might have become more powerful after AvX but writer Brian Michael Bendis shows us that not all is well for the mutant teleporter and one-time queen of Limbo.

Spoilers for Uncanny X-Men # 5 after the cut...

So last issue aside from finding out who the defectors are from Wolverine's school, we also find out that something is very wrong with Magik. She briefly vanished and then returned back to Weapon X Center, now the headquarters of Cyclops' X-Men.

What happens actually is that Colossus' baby sister is violently sent to Limbo where she witnesses a hostile takeover by Dormammu and his Mindless Ones. Oh and she also gets something undone inside her.

It's also revealed that becoming the host for the Phoenix Force during AVX screwed with her control and power over Limbo; which was throwing off the balance for the mystic baddies of the Marvel Universe prompting Dormammu to attack.

When Dormammu tinkered with Magik, he also let lose something that Ilyanna's been keeping at bay, her Darkchylde persona, which quickly goes to work on ole flame face.

With Cyclops finding this out this X-Men quickly make plans and discern whether or not Magik is capable of keeping it together during missions. Before anything could happen however, the entire team is teleported once more to Limbo.

This issue had so much potential but I don't think Frazer Irving's art fits into this massively cool book. I sorely wished they had Chris Bachalo back.
