It would seem like Ilyanna Rasputin of the Uncanny X-Men might have become more powerful after AvX but writer Brian Michael Bendis shows us that not all is well for the mutant teleporter and one-time queen of Limbo.

Top Five Mutant Substitutes for AVX's Phoenix Five
AVX # 5 ended with a whooper with the Phoenix Force selecting five mutants rather than just it's supposed host Hope Summers; thus giving birth to the so-called Phoenix Five.
That got me thinking, who are some of the other mutants that could have been awesome if they were present during the whole transformation? Here are some potential substitutes for Marvel's Phoenix Five.
5. Rogue
While Rogue never had any real connection to the Phoenix force, she does have a "connection" with Hope. They have an affinity for each other and while the current writers might have forgotten about this, there are hints all over old issues of Uncanny that there's an unresolved plot that involves the two.
As for the Phoenix five sub list, I vote for Rogue because she can really live up to her potential. Imagine Rogue wearing a phoenix emblem uniform and then absorbing the powers of mutants she encounters. Not only that, she actually boosts those powers and keep it to herself or she could even share it with the four other Phoenix Force hosts.
4. Magneto

Marvel EIC Axel Alonso Speaks out about the Phoenix FIve and AvX Act 2
Here's what Marvel EIC Axel Alonso had to say about the Phoenix Five and as well as the whole gist of the second act of AvX.
CBR: Okay! For a while, you've been talking about how the end of each act will be a turning point in the story that shakes the action up in a major way. How does these characters getting empowered like this change the course of the event?
Alonso: The most immediate question is, "Can the Phoenix Force be controlled?" Are these five individuals -- any one of them or all five collectively -- capable of controlling it? The Phoenix Force is destruction and rebirth, so it's safe top say they're going define exactly what that means. And as the teaser suggests, they have a chance to remake the word in their image. But what does that mean? You might be surprised.

Ms. Marvel and Thor show their Power
With a "mysterious object" crashing into New York City airspace, two of the Avengers' biggest hitters respond by averting further disaster. It's not a spoiler or anything but its pretty cool to see Ms. Marvel (soon to be the new Captain Marvel) and Thor doing their best to save people's lives and avoid further property damage.
