Disney Announces Star Wars Rebels Series for 2014

After chronicling the story between Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Star Wars Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith; a new series will tell the stories of a darker time in STAR WARS REBELS. 

Here are a couple of details for this new series set for release 2014 (assumedly together with AVENGERS ASSEMBLE).




Here's how Disney describes this new animated project: an "action-filled series in a time where the Empire is securing its grip on the galaxy and hunting down the last of the Jedi Knights as a fledgling rebellion against the Empire is taking shape." The time-frame, about 19 years, has been featured in the Dark Horse Comics Dark Times and Purge series, as well as in the multimedia video game/comic book/novel franchise Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, but has never been commited to the "official" canon of film and animation.

Dave Filoni will be in charge of everything and will run around the time between the end of Revenge of the Sith all the way to the start of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.
