John Carter Movie Review - Exploring a Brand New Frontier

Walt Disney Pictures invited me and some of my blogger friends for the advance screening of "John Carter" which was formerly titled "John Carter of Mars".

And if you do not know who's in it here are the cast members - Taylor Kitsch as Captain John "Virginia" Carter, Lynn Collins as the stunningly beautiful Dejah Thoris, Willem Dafoe lends his voice as the Thark Jeddak (chief/king/ruler/emperor/mayor) Tars Tarkas, Dominic West from the Wire as Sab Than and Mark Strong as Matai Shang.

IMAX 3D Gets Ready for Disney's John Carter

IMAX Corporation and Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures announced that the action-adventure film “John Carter,” from Academy Award-winning filmmaker Andrew Stanton, will be released to IMAX 3D theatres simultaneously with the film's worldwide release in Digital 3D and regular theaters on March 9, including the Philippines.

“John Carter” is based on a classic novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs and stars Taylor Kitsch, Willem Dafoe and Lynn Collins.

Dejah Thoris, Lynn Collins and Nudity

I'm impressed that they are finally making John Carter of Mars into a mean looking movie but I'm totally clueless as to why they tapped actress Lynn Collins for the role of the always semi-naked Dejah Thoris.

The new movie will also star Taylor Kitsch as John Carter and was based on the character created by Tarzan creator Edgar Rice Burroughs. Of course we can't see a scantily clad Dejah on the big screen much to the dismay of the forever alone fanboys and the comic book geeks that pickup Thoris' monthly book from Dynamite.

Movie Review - Beauty and the Beast 3D is Still Good 21 Years Later

Reviewing Beauty and the Beast 3D from Walt Disney Pictures.

Well, what can I say - its been 21 years since I first saw this in a local movie theater together with my grandfather. I was less than 10 years old at that time and I was totally mystified with this great looking movie. And now 21 years later, I get to see the movie in the big screen and it brought back a lot of good memories.
