The First Official Photo for Guardians of the Galaxy

Walt Disney Studios just sent over a hi-res photo of the first official photo for Marvel Studios' GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY.

Pictured from Left to Right: Gamorra (Zoe Saldana), Peter Quill/ Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper), Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista/ Batista) and Groot (Vin Diesel).

Here's a rather lengthy synopsis from Marvel Studios:

The first official photo has gone online from Marvel Studios' "Guardians of the Galaxy." The still shows the five major characters who make up the team - Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Chris Pratt as Peter Quill/Star-Lord, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket Raccoon, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, and Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot.

From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of “Iron Man,” “Thor,” “Captain America” and “The Avengers,” comes a new team – the “Guardians of the Galaxy.”

An action-packed, epic space adventure, “Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy” expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits–Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer.

But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand – with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.

Directed by James Gunn, the live-action "Guardians of the Galaxy" will take fans to new corners of the Marvel Universe when it hits theaters August 1, 2014.

Vin Diesel Joins Guardians of the Galaxy as Groot

It's official! Vin Diesel is going to lend his husky voice for the Marvel StudiosGuardians of the Galaxy

Diesel and Groot credits: Walt Disney Studios PH

The star of the “Fast and the Furious” and “Riddick” franchises will lend his voice to Groot in Marvel's live-action "Guardians of the Galaxy," rounding out the team that includes Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper), Gamora (Zoe Saldana) and Drax (Dave Bautista).

Featured in four of the six movies in the fan-favorite "Fast & Furious" franchise, Diesel has helped the series gross over $2 billion at the box office; and will reprise his role in "Fast & Furious 7." Diesel's most recent film, "Riddick," the third film in the franchise that has so far earned a cumulative $267.3 million across the globe, debuted this year at the top of the box office. In addition to lending his voice to several video games, Diesel's received great acclaim for his voice work in the celebrated animated film "The Iron Giant," directed by Brad Bird.

In the far reaches of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, an unlikely cast of characters including Peter Quill, Gamora, Drax, Groot and Rocket Raccoon must join forces to defeat a cosmic force of epic proportions. Directed by James Gunn, the live-action "Guardians of the Galaxy" will take fans to new corners of the Marvel Universe when it hits theaters August 1, 2014, but in the meantime stay tuned to Marvel.com for the latest news as it breaks, including official casting, first looks and more!

In addition to "Guardians of the Galaxy," Marvel Studios will release a slate of films based on the Marvel characters including "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" on April 4, 2014; "Avengers: Age of Ultron" on May 1, 2015; and "Ant-Man" on July 31, 2015.

New Stills from Fast and Furious 7

Here are some new stills for the film 'Fast and Furious 7' which stars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Jason Statham.

Why these two are talking about plans over a glass of wine is beyond me though.

Here are the other photos which are cool and at the same time non-spoilery. Although I wish Diesel posted something that's spoiler-ish.

The New Teaser Poster for Fast and Furious 7

Dominic Toretto is back in this new teaser poster for the film Fast and Furious 7.

After Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his crew helped take down Owen Shaw (Luke Evans), his brother Ian Shaw (Jason Statham) now wants revenge.

Based on the poster, I'm guessing that majority of the story will take place in Tokyo. After all, Shaw killed Han in Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift (as shown in FF6).

Kurt Russell's Role in Fast and Furious 7

Here's our first and rather weird look at Kurt Russell in "Fast and Furious 7"

It appears like Brian and Dom are in serious talks with Russell's character which while reading the comments is hinted as being Jesse's father.

If you don't remember Jesse (because it's been like a decade or so since the first Fast and Furious movie), he was the guy that tried to run away after losing a race and is one of Toretto's first crew members that dies.

So Vin Diesel Just Posted a Photo of him and Groot

Should we be jumping for joy over the fact that we're getting an "almost-yes" on Diesel's involvement in Marvel Studios' "Guardians of the Galaxy"?

Probably so because this has got to be the best casting news in days.

I'm speculating this is 90% true already and I need the other shoe to drop (an announcement from Marvel Studios or something).

Still, a big win for Marvel Cinematic Universe if this is true!

Lucas Black Officially Joins Fast and Furious 7

Lucas Black was visibly absent ever since he headlined "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift" and we were left wondering if his character Sean Boswell would appear in the current Fast and Furious storyline. Now we get reports that Black will be joining the cast of FF7!

Not only is Black joining Vin Diesel and the rest of the crew for Fast and Furious 7, he'll be a regular for the next two sequels. That in itself is big news especially since we haven't gotten a franchise that's gone as far as four or five.

And if you're scratching your head as to how Black's character Sean Boswell connects with the rest of the storyline, here's a spoiler. He gets hired by Dom (Diesel) after the death of Han Seoul-Oh (Sung Kang) at the hands of Jason Statham's character, who happens to be Luke Evan's brother (seen in Fast and Furious 6).

Now you're getting how it all fits. So with a bit of Hollywood magic, Tokyo Drift is the current storyline that we'll be following. I don't know about you but that is pretty cool.

Fast and Furious 7 Adds Djimon Hounsou

Djimon Hounsou is one of the fine few actors who has yet really jumped into the bandwagon of franchise films. Luckily James Wan changes all that with the inclusion of the actor for the next installment in the Fast and Furious films.

Hounsou joins new cast members Ronda Rousey, Kurt Russell, Jason Statham and Tony Jaa. No details yet on the film as well as where they will be shooting the film. Fast & Furious 7 opens July 11, 2014. The film still stars Vin Diesel and Paul Walker.

Hounsou will however be joining another James for another summer blockbuster appearing next year, James Gunn's "Guardians of the Galaxy" which is top billed by Chris Pratt as Peter Quill aka Star Lord.

Will Simon Pegg Become Ant-Man?

Actor Simon Pegg went on Twitter today with a new photo of him with an Ant-Man artwork behind him.

This is obviously a play on what Vin Diesel did a few weeks ago when he met with Marvel execs over a possible role in any upcoming Marvel Studios movie. Given director Edgar Wright's penchant for working with Pegg (who recently reprised his Scottie role in Star Trek Into Darkness) I wouldn't be surprised if the role of Hank Pym was offered one time or another.

So what do you think? Is Simon Pegg a square peg for the circular Ant-Man slot?

Could Vin Diesel Voice Groot from GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY?

Vin Diesel teased that he was in talks with Marvel for something. Speculations run wild that he was either going to be a baddie, or voice Ultron or become The Vision for the next Avengers movie, Avengers: Age of Ultron. However there's a new rumor swirling.

The new rumor suggests that Diesel is in talks with Disney/Marvel to lend his voice to the Tree Alien Warrior GROOT for next year's GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY.

New Images for the New Riddick Movie

Vin Diesel is back in one of his most unforgettable roles as the Furian Richard B. Riddick for the third movie of the Chronicles of Riddick saga simply entitled "Riddick".

I'm still curious as to how this movie will neatly tie up everything about the Riddick saga. And hopefully this is just a 'closure' to a trilogy and not an ultimate death to the character (I haven't played 'Butcher's Bay' yet so don't die on me pal).

RUMOR: Fast and the Furious 6 Having it's Gala Premiere in the Philippines

Take this with a grain of salt for the moment folks, but during the welcoming speech this evening during the press screening/advance screening of "Les Miserables" from Solar-UIP, it was mentioned that there's a possibility that "Fast and the Furious 6" might have a gala premiere here in the Philippines.

As I recall, Michelle Rodriguez's character already hit the dirtnap in 5.
Not only this, there's also a chance that most of the cast will fly in to join the promotion. So it's going to be: Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez. Those were the only names that were dropped but hey, if we're lucky we could have Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson or Elsa Pataky.

Oh and knowing Solar, this would probably happen in Resorts World (which did a really fucking bad job with the gala premiere of "Les Miserables".)
