Shonen Jump is kicking things up a notch with the release of their first video game entitled J-Stars Victory Vs.
This is a pretty cool game as it pits (in team battle no less) the stars from various mangas that grew popular through Shonen Jump. Included in the list are:
Monkey D. Luffy from One Piece
Toriko from the manga of the same name
Son Goku from Dragon Ball
Naruto Uzumaki from Naruto
Ichigo Kurosaki from Bleach
Kenshin Himura from Rurouni Kenshin
Kankichi Ryotsu from Kochira Katsushika-ku Kamearikouen-mae Hashutsujo
Gintoki Sakata from Gintama
Oh and it definitely won't be released in America and won't have any English versions thanks to licensing issues for the North. Aaaaand it's available exclusively for the PS3 and the Playstation Vita.
Manga News reports that manga legend Akira Toriyama is set to return to the world of manga with the release of his new work Ginga Patrol Jako together with artist Masakazu Katsura who also did fabulous works in DNA² and Video Girl Ai. The Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z creator will be returning due in part to the 45th anniversary of Weekly Shonen Jump. This project together with two other unrevealed stuff will be coming out in the July issue of the long-running anthology book. This should be interesting considering that my interest waned with the second season of Blue Dragon. Plus the old man looks very much like Master Roshi. Good times! Special thanks ANN
