Shunya Yamashita Tackles Jubilee and Starfire for Kotobukiya
Expect these two bishoujo statues from Kotobukiya probably next year. For now, lets just oogle at how awesome Shunya Yamashita draws these characters.
I like that they chose a 'happier' moment for Jubilee, particularly that time when she was still a 90s mallrat who later becomes Wolverine's unofficial sidekick.
Although it wouldn't be bad to see a vampire version of the Kotobukiya Bishoujo Jubilee.
And now here's Starfire as rendered by Yamashita.
All I can say is...

In this fantastic new presentation she’s ready to take on anyone who tries to control her, standing proud and defiant in the face of any danger! Her strength is matched with her femininity as she poses with one leg slightly bent at the knee and one hand at her waist while the other is balled into a fist and held at the ready. Turned slightly, Supergirl regards you with all the focus of her attention, her perfectly sculpted face framed by her beautiful blonde hair. The Kryptonian’s distinctive New 52 costume is recreated with extreme attention to detail and includes the unique thigh high boots with exposed knees, half-body suit in gleaming metallic colors, and calf-length cape. The statue’s paint highlights all of the great details with bright, vivid colors exemplified by the “S” shield on her chest.

And the Next Kotobukiya Bishoujo Statue Is...
... none other than, the queen of the knock'em up fighting games from Capcom's Street Fighter games, Chun-Li.
Sadly that's the only information given by Kotobukiya on their Facebook fanpage. Still the art is terrific. And I really hope they get to do the alternate costume for Chun-Li down the line:

Kotobukiya X-Force Psylocke Bishoujo Statue
Based on Rick Remender's Uncanny X-Force comes this new Psylocke statue from Kotobukiya. And can I just say that it looks deadly!
Here's the official press release for the product which comes out December 2013:
"A Kotobukiya Japanese import! The Marvel Bishoujo collection continues with a brand new version of the mysterious and beautiful telepathic mutant ninja, Psylocke X-Force Ninja Outfit Ver! Once a British woman with minor mutant powers, Elizabeth “Betsy” Braddock’s mind was transferred into the body of a ninja giving her additional martial arts prowess. A long-time member of the X-Men, Psylocke more recently joined up with the brutal mutant hit squad X-Force, comprised of mutants willing to do anything to get the job done and protect the world. Psylocke fit right in, using her awesome powers and debuting a cool monochrome costume. Based on a new illustration by master artist Shunya Yamashita, Psylocke has never looked better with her X-Force outfit and adorable Bishoujo styled face! The deadly telepathic mutant crouches low with one leg in full extension, ready to leap into battle! Psylocke rests on one hand while the other holds her katana at the ready. She’s never looked better in her X-Force outfit consisting of a sleek black skin-tight costume, thigh high boots, long fingerless gloves, and unique straps around her upper arms and legs. All of that is offset with a white belt decorated with the red and black X-Force symbol, and the tied off sash waves with unseen wind along with Psylocke’s trademark purple hair! The dynamic mutant has a striking Bishoujo-styled face that combines her beauty with deadly focus. Sculpted by Busujimax (Takaboku Busujima), the new X-Force Psylocke reaches 8 inches high (1/7 scale) in her dynamic pose. A fantastic addition to any Bishoujo Statue or X-Force collection, this Psylocke is not to be missed!

Kinda bummer though that it's not Shunya Yamashita who sculpted this statue.

Kotobukiya's DC Comics + ARTFX New 52 Catwoman Coming Up
While the Kotobukiya New 52 statues were pretty cool to look at I wasn't really in to getting them. Sure their Green Lantern, The Flash and the rest of the New 52 Justice League were sleek and shiny but I passed. Their latest product however, completely changed my mind, it's the New 52 Catwoman folks.
A Kotobukiya Japanese import! Kotobukiya’s line of DC Comics ARTFX+ Statues continues, capturing the look and costumes of DC Comics Super Heroes and villains. Following up on the Justice League comes one of Batman's most popular antagonists (and sometimes partner), Catwoman!
Stealing the limelight in her skin-tight leather jumpsuit and carrying her trademark whip and claws, Catwoman stands in a relaxed pose, yet is light on her feet, ready to either fight or flee as the situation requires. Selina Kyle's first appearance in the ARTFX+ lineup captures her classic look perfectly. The details on Catwoman are exceptional from the intricate folds and seams on her costume to the small touches like the zipper, boot buckles, whip, and claws. Kotobukiya’s unique take on Catwoman features a reflective sheen to her black cat-suit, with her fully painted features visible through her goggles.

Shunya Yamashita Illustrates Huntress Bishoujo for Kotobukiya
Here's a new art from Shunya Yamashita featuring The Huntress.
Of course we all know that this art would be used for another upcoming DC Comics Bishoujo statue from Kotobukiya.
I like the art but I still want to see more of the Jim Lee version of The Huntress which we saw in Batman Hush.

First Look: Kotobukiya + ARTFX Batman from The Dark Knight Rises
Here's a first look at the Kotobukiya + ARTFX The Dark Knight Rises Statue featuring a very bad-ass Batman.

Here's what DC and Kotobukiya had to say about this fine looking statue:
A Kotobukiya Japanese import! The Dark Knight is back! Kotobukiya is proud to present a new ARTFX Statue based on the upcoming film The Dark Knight Rises. The third part of a trilogy by Christopher Nolan, this summer’s “DKR” pits Christian Bale’s Bruce Wayne against both Bane and Catwoman. To celebrate that release you can get the newest incarnation of the big screen hero for your shelf with Batman -The Dark Knight Rises! The Bat was reinvented with 2005’s Batman Begins, and its two sequels have further evolved the Dark Knight. Featuring a beautifully detailed sculpt recreating Batman’s specific appearance in the new film, this new version of the character faithfully recreates the hero’s intricate armored bat-suit with cape and cowl. Standing ready for action, the world’s greatest detective oversees Gotham City from the top of a rocky landscape. Staring down his enemies with his trademark scowl, Batman holds his flowing cape in front of him with his left hand while his right wields one of his wonderful toys; with interchangeable parts you can display him with either a grapple gun or his EMP rifle! Sculpted by MIC, Batman The Dark Knight Rises towers over 15 inches tall (1/6th scale) on a rocky display base that includes a hidden light-up bat symbol! Perfect for both long-time Batman collectors as well as fans of the new movie, this Dark Knight looks great on his own or displayed next to other dynamic Kotobukiya Batman statues.
Available November 2012.

First Look at Kotobukiya DC Comics Bishoujo Harley Quinn
Kotobukiya has revealed a new Bishoujo Statue. Their newest reveals showcases their DC Comics: Harley Quinn Bishoujo Statue.
A Kotobukiya Japanese import! Coming up next in the DC Comics Bishoujo Collection (combining DC’s superheroines and villains with traditional Japanese stylings) is the fan favorite wacky psychologist turned harlequin supervillain, Harley Quinn! First appearing in Batman: the Animated Series and then the pages of DC Comics, Harleen Quinzel was originally a brilliant doctor working with patients at Arkham Asylum before she was seduced by the “clown prince of crime” and became the Joker’s girlfriend and assistant. Her villainous ways have brought her into conflict with Batman many times over the years, and she’s found a good friend in the similarly deranged Poison Ivy. Because of her mental instability and affinity for hilarity, Quinn frequently employs comically oversized weapons like her favorite giant hammer. Based on an original illustration by Japan’s renowned Shunya Yamashita, Harley appears here for the first time in the Japanese Bishoujo (pretty girl) style!
Harley Quinn shows off her silly and violent natures as she poses seductively just for you. Perched on her enormous hammer, the sultry psychotic looks adorable in her trademark black, red, and white harlequin costume that hugs all of her curves. She teases you with her legs straddling the hammer’s shaft, her back arched to maximum effect, and her hand right hand gently stroking the upraised end. Harley’s sculpt is fantastic with careful attention paid to her sexy body, the cloth-like movement of her collar and hood, and the fringes on her wrists. With Quinn's stunning Bishoujo-style face and wonderfully sculpted and painted costume, you won't need to be as crazy as the Joker to want her around.
Constructed of high-quality pvc plastic and standing 10 inches tall (in the ultimate 1/7 scale) on her exclusive hammer base, Harley Quinn was sculpted by Masahiro “Gill Gill” Takahashi. Display Harley on her own or together with other DC Bishoujo statues like Poison Ivy and Batgirl!
Available September 2012.

Sexy Tekken Girls from Kotobukiya's Bishoujo Line is Jaw Dropping
Check out the first look for the Shunya Yamashita designed bishoujo statues from Namco's Tekken line particularly from the upcoming Tekken Tag Tournament 2.
So without further ado, here's bitter rivals Lili and Asuka Kazama and that unknown masked sexy girl from Tekken Tag Tournament 2.
I totally dig this Asuka figure; anyway, the others are equally jaw dropping such as that mysterious luchador and Lili.
