I'm what you call an off-again-on-again Supergirl reader. I picked it up after H'El on Earth and now it looks like I'm picking it up again especially since we're in the middle of a crossover with World's Finest star Power Girl in Supergirl # 19 by Mike Johnson and Mahmud Asrar.
Not only is Power Girl teaming up with her 'cousin' Supergirl, she's also returning to a more 'iconic' costume in this issue.
So how does this happen?
Well Power Girl rescues Supergirl who's about to be shipped off to some secret Luthor laboratory...
When the two touch hands, there's some sort of psychic feedback which reaffirms the fact that both Karas are actually one and the same only from different universes. This little reunion is cut short by the appearance of the monstrous Apex who gives the two a massive beatdown. But that's before we see the two whoop ass on the hapless grunts sent to contain Supergirl.
And because Power Girl's suit keeps getting ripped to shreds much like Adam Warren's Empowered, a quick drop off to Supergirl's very own 'Fortress of Solitude' provides Power Girl Kara with a very legendary costume...
Yay! Welcome back boob window!
Man, Mahmud Asrar just went up the awesomeness scale just because of this issue. Too bad for Power Girl and Supergirl, it seems like they'll be facing off against a threat from home.
Oh and you might want to pick up Power Girl's next appearance via the cover of World's Finest # 12
