Dan Panosian's Unknown Soldier Looks Familiar

Looks like the new G.I. Combat # 1 is just about ready to kick off and DC Comics shares a first look at the newly redesigned Unknown Solider which will appearing on the book.

The new look was designed by artist Dan Panosian and will be featured in the stories which will be written by Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray.

Here's what Dan had to say regarding the overall look for 'Soldier.

"For me, the most significant aspect of The Unknown Soldier's new incarnation, was I wanted him to look like a cross between what you would see on today's battlefields and what we enjoy most from video games," Panosian told The Source. "I also wanted to give him a constant reminder of his family for his own inspiration. The three marks on his outfit represent the family he's lost. It's almost like a tattoo he's wearing. That's who he's fighting for."

 **Two cents time***

The costume is pretty kick-ass if you ask me. It's got everything that a modern soldier would need. I just noticed though that the camo is pretty much for desert warfare. There's not a hint of things that would be needed for other settings such as for jungles or snowy mountains.

It's either that or the new book will solely focus on Unknown gunning down bad guys in the desert and in an urban setting. It's very Modern Warfare 3 and Call of Duty if you ask me.

While we're on the subject of Unknown Soldier its also interesting to point out that he made an appearance in Blackest Night:
