In this episode, Black Manta's back and so is Aqualad who has apparently turned tail and joined his father against the League and the teenage team.
He also sports the same costume as Aquaman's hated enemy.
Much to the dismay of Aquaman, his former teammates and the rest of the League (not to mention Lagoon Boy)...
Later within the episode, we find out the reason for Aqualad's rebelliousness. (A) The death of Tula who was his sweetheart on a JL mission within the five year time-skip.
(B) He was also disgusted at Aquaman's attempts to cover the fact that he was the son of Black Manta (which I'm sure most of us forgot because of the New 52)...
The Senior and junior leaguers go to an island where the rest of the Kroloteans are building a ship to leave Earth with the help of Aqualad and his elite team. Batman joins the mission with Robin, Nightwing and Batgirl...
While Aquaman and Lagoon Boy enter the island hideout through the underwater tunnel.
The battle is wild and fierce and just when things get a little hairy, Superman and his "little brother" Superboy arrive as well as Wonder Woman and Wonder Girl.
Oh and theres a moment in this episode that Cassie goes all fangirl at Wonder Woman...
There's also a battle between Nightwing, Superboy and Aqualad in the escape hatch. Aqualad plants an alien tech bomb and holds Superboy hostage.
Finally the team escapes and the island goes BOOM and Superman gets mildly injured from the explosions. Oh and the Kroloteans did not make it which is kinda sad.
The Light returns through a video call with Black Manta who now joins the group replacing Ocean Master. The Light is also in cahoots with the Krolotean's rivals (who sicced Lobo on the fake UN member in Episode 1).
Meanwhile the six wanted leaguers to to space and they say goodbye to their young charges.
