Aquaman # 15 Spoilers - Throne of Atlantis Part 2

Here are some major and minor spoilers for "Throne of Atlantis" part 2 which runs in Aquaman # 15 by Geoff Johns and new Aquaman artist Paul Pelletier.

There's also a variant cover done by former Justice League artist Jim Lee...

Read the actual spoilers after the cut.

1. Jim Gordon and Harvey Bullock rescued by Aquaman

It's these rare moments in comic book history where we get to see Justice League level characters interact with supporting casts of other 'heroes'. It's also a good way of showing that even if they live on their own, there are still subtle reminders that these heroes are living in a shared universe. Plus Aquaman is a kinda badass here in this splash page.

2. Mera showing off (again)

And also she fails since she's not uber-powerful to stem the waves. Still a cool moment for Aquaman's mate. When will she be part of the Justice League methinks. She did a cool entry back in Justice League # 15

3. Batman Gets Shushed

In one classic moment, we get to see Aquaman shushing the Dark Knight detective (who also happens to be his rival in becoming the leader of the Justice League). Of course Batman quickly gets his licks in and prattles on about the league not having secrets from one another. It's also kinda cool to know that this comes from a guy who had a protocol to take out each and every member of the League and later create a satellite designed to monitor all metahumans around the world.

4. The Return of the Trench

Arthur and Mera successfully sealed these madcap creatures during the final moments of "The Trench" but it looks like somebody has let them loose once again. Of course at this point in the story all fingers are pointing at Orm aka Ocean Master but we also have to consider that Black Manta has recently escaped...

5.  Ocean Master's Mistake

Upon surfacing, Ocean Master threatens a couple of fishermen if they do not tell him where Arthur is. The funny bit here is that he thinks that his half-brother is the king of the surface world. He even takes the time to question whether or not he used his English properly.

6. Arthur's Face-turn-heel

Learning that the League want's to apprehend his brother, Aquaman decides at the spur of the moment to turn heel and become an enemy of the Justice League. I'm calling it now, it's a faker. Batman and Aquaman's agreed to go this way so that Bats and the League have a man inside Atlantis. Notice why it was so easy for Batman to let Arthur go and meet his brother. This was first sign that this was going to happen.

Or maybe this is the real deal which will later play it's part once Trinity War officially begins.
