Marcos Martin Does a Variant Cover for Amazing Spider-Man # 1

Artist Marcos Martin does a fantastic job of showing us what we missed with Peter Parker once again doing the driving in his own body with this variant cover for AMAZING SPIDER-MAN # 1.

The actual book however will be done by Humberto Ramos following the scripts of long-time Spider-writer Dan Slott.

All is forgiven Slott, you can come out now.

And while we're on the subject of Amazing Spider-Man...

That Variant Cover for Superman/Wonder Woman # 3 Proves That

... sex in space is possible. But it will require either parentage from Greek pantheon or genetics from a dead alien race to actually pull it off.

Yes folks, DC Comics will be releasing this variant cover to Superman/Wonder Woman # 3 which looks like the Man of Steel and the Amazonian Princess just did the horizontal mambo in space. Cover is done rather tastefully by one of my favorite artists, Guillem March.

Here's the entirety of the cover.

A bit fanservice-y aint it? Also, the solicit.

SUPERMAN/WONDER WOMAN #3
Written by CHARLES SOULE
Art and cover by TONY S. DANIEL and BATT
1:25 Variant cover by GUILLEM MARCH
1:100 B&W Variant cover by TONY S. DANIEL and BATT
On sale DECEMBER 11 • 32 pg, FC, $3.99 US • RATED T
Combo pack edition: $4.99 US
Retailers: This issue will ship with four covers. Please see the order form for details.

The way I see it, people are polarized by the book, some loving it others be hatin' (I'm with the former though) especially after seeing Superman kinda beating up Diana's brother Apollo. Still, it offers a great read with some of the best panels and splash pages done by artist Tony S. Daniels in years.

Wolverine Dons Armor for All New Marvel Now Relaunch

To hammer the point that Wolverine is overrated at Marvel Comics, here's the cover for Wolverine # 1 which will be part of All New Marvel Now.

Here's the full version of the cover for the book which will be written by Paul Cornell with art by Superior Spider-Man artist Ryan Stegman

Cornell had this to say: "The first arc is called “Payback,” and that’s where we find him: working for a crime boss called The Offer, alongside a “family” of low-rent super villains. Following the end of “Killable,” he’s decided to simplify his life and drop his responsibilities."

"The Offer is a minor super villain gang boss who has the power to make the best possible offer. It’s not hypnotism; you’re free to turn him down. But his offers tend to make people think twice. He’s a caring, fatherly presence to his gang, but he’s not really a good man.

His gang includes Pinch, who Logan is in a relationship with, who can pull threads from any material; Fuel, who increases powers, and thus can make Logan move at high speed; and the Lost Boy, who can make anything ignite, and who has a complicated attitude towards what heroism and villainy might be. Logan worries about him."

This also kinda explains the new suit he was drawn in for one of the early teasers for INHUMANITY

MARVEL NOW 2 Officially Announced with Avengers, Inhumans and Invaders

Marvel Comics has just released their opening salvo for the second wave of Marvel Now titles coming our way starting December. These include familiar faces with new creative teams.

So yes, James Robinson has jumped aboard the Marvel ship and I'm really hoping he kicks ass with this new title featuring unlikely allies Captain America, the Original Human Torch (Jim Hammond), Bucky Barnes aka Winter Soldier and Namor.

Then there's also AVENGERS # 24 which kicks off a brand new story arc entitled ROGUE PLANET which sees Cap and Iron Man creating a new Avengers team to stop a runaway train-esque planet from colliding with Earth. Even awesome is the fact that they have Esad Ribic as artist.

Finally, the most obvious title that will be coming out for the second wave of Marvel Now titles, INHUMANS by Matt Fraction and Joe Madureira. Guess we have to track down INFINITY closely to understand the story.

Oh and let's not forget about the in-betweener book INHUMANITY which just had it's first cover revealed a few days ago.

Check out these two variant covers for Marvel's INFINITY # 2 by Jonathan Hickman, Dustin Weaver and Jerome Opena.

STEVE MCNIVEN INFINITY # 2 VARIANT

I hate this updated look for Sam Wilson aka The Falcon. He definitely looks like the X-Men villain Sauron...

SKOTTIE YOUNG INFINITY # 2 VARIANT

Cuteness. Just cuteness everywhere.

INFINITY # 2 comes out September 2013.

X-MEN BATTLE OF THE ATOM Variant Cover Brings the Feels for the Two Cyclops

It's too early to tell whether or not somebody from the Original Five X-Men or O5 will die by the end of X-MEN BATTLE OF THE ATOM but the variant covers seem to tell us that there will be casualties.

So the variant done by Nick Bradshaw speaks alot about the state of Marvel's merry mutants when Battle of the Atom begins. It also looks like older Cyclops hasn't reigned in his powers yet as the eyebeams still look a bit chaotic.

I don't know how other X-Fans feel but I'm definitely looking forward to get my hands on the first issue of X-MEN BATTLE OF THE ATOM.

Marvel Comics Teases Joe Madureira art for Inhuman

Marvel teases us with the cover for Matt Fraction's "Inhuman" done by Joe Madureira.

Meanwhile, here's the entire cover for the said art:

InhumanCoverPT

Accompanying text for the art: "It’s a chance to spray everybody with supersoldier serum and see what happens," Fraction told PopWatch of the premise, which finds the entire planet somehow exposed to the Inhumans' powers-granting Terrigen Mists. "Did you know that you had a king? Did you know that you had a secret genetic lineage? Oh, and by the way, now you have horns, and someone’s coming to kill you!"

Fiona Staples x Betty and Veronica

Wasn't expecting Fiona Staples to do a great looking variant cover for Archie Comics' Betty and Veronica #  267. That's a really wicked cover featuring Archie's 'girl friends' Betty and Veronica.

Like I said, nothing but awe for this cover done by the Saga artist. The regular cover for the issue is not bad as well.

Leinil Yu, Gerry Alanguilan Step Up for Hickman's Avengers

Looks like our Pinoy heroes Leinil Yu and Gerry Alanguilan are stepping up to the bat once more for the Avengers tie-in issues of the Jonathan Hickman penned Infinity.

"The last time the Avengers faced an widescale extraterrestrial threat against Earth came when the shape-shifting Skrulls launched a Secret Invasion that nearly succeeded," the publisher's official text reads. "Now, as Earth's Mightiest Heroes journey out into the universe in hopes of thwarting another cosmic catastrophe, they must rely on their new allies...the Skrulls?"

So yeah, the Skrulls are working together with the Avengers. But if you read all the books that out post Secret Invasion you'd find out that not all the remaining Skrulls wanted to invade Earth. To the non-invading Skrull populace, the Secret Invasion was actually just a jihad done by zealots and religious nuts who followed Veranke. There were still a lot who didn't give a shit; after all they were reeling from the Annihilation wave.

Marko Djurdjevic's Infinity Variant Cover Looks Like a Movie Poster

... and this movie poster features important key figures like main villain Thanos plus Inhuman leader Black Bolt together with heavy hitters from Earth's Mightiest Heroes, the Avengers.

If you've read the early scans from the FCBD issue of Marvel Comics' Infinity, you'll know that Thanos has sent his outrider to Earth with the hopes of finding something or someone. Knowing Thanos, this must be the Infinity gauntlet and the six infinity gems. Sadly though, the Illuminati broke the Infinity gems in Jonathan Hickman's New Avengers.

Uncanny Avengers # 10 Cover Revives Dead Mutants and Avengers as Horsemen

The Uncanny Avengers # 10 cover is quite a shocker and I'm surprised why people are not talking about this revival.

Dead Heroes and Villains
So here's where things get ruined and get better at the same time. According to rumors, these guys won't just be revived for the sake of shocks and scares for Rick Remender's Uncanny Avengers team. They'll be playing a significantly larger role as the new Horsemen of the Apocalypse (twins).

And in case you're not able to identify who these guys are, here's the breakdown from left to right:
