SPOILERS: On Why Aquaman Was Absent in Justice League War
Justice League: War has already been released (a tad early too) and people are loving it. I for one love it but there seems to be a little beef with to the roster change for the League. I mean come on, Aquaman is and will always be a founding member so why is he absent from this animated flick?
There's actually a specific reason for the absence and that it also ties into whatever's coming next for DC's animated movie. Here's the description from Newsarama...
"After the devastation to Earth due to the attack by the forces of Apokolips, a shot of the ocean is shown. In the water lay swathes of dead fish and other sealife – and then waves start from the middle of the water. A vessel rises, and with what sure seems to be the helmet of Orm, Ocean Master (Aquaman’s brother). In his arms lie a dead old man. Ocean Master says, “The Surface Dwellers have killed our king. This is an act of war. And they will pay.”"
Ocean Master carrying the body of what appears to be the elderly king of Atlanti? Waitaminute...
Are we really going full Throne of Atlantis here? That'd be awesome. I liked that storyline written by Geoff Johns.

Aquaman # 25 Spoilers
One of the top 10 consistently entertaining books from DC Comics' New 52 initiative has got to be Aquaman by Geoff Johns. It's made the guy cool and relevant and more importantly, erased the whole notion of the superhero as a laughingstock. Issue # 25 is Johns' last run on the book and while this spoiler is a bit old, it did let slip a couple of things.
So basically what happens is Aquaman finds the Dead King's scepter which he uses to control the creatures called The Trench. He leads them to Atlantis where he rescues Mera from prison where she got thrown six months ago. The ensuing chaos gets thick when Arthur and the Dead King find each other. Aquaman gets the upper hand and the Dead King tries to sink Atlantis but Arthur stops him.
The fight goes to a volcano where the Dead King's scepter melts and the icy king melts due to the extreme heat.
Aquaman returns to throne and together with Mera (that's the short of it) and though this chapter ends we get a peek into whats coming next for the King of the Seven Seas and it involves Ocean Master.
Apparently, he's taken refuge in the house of that family he rescued back in the Villain's Month special...
So the next crisis for the Geoff Johns' Justice League would be "Rise of the Seven Seas" after "Throne of Atlantis".

Forever Evil ARGUS # 2 Spoilers - All of ARGUS' Secret Rooms
I've always been curious how many rooms DC's version of SHIELD has in the New 52 Universe and it gets answered in the most unexpected of places, FOREVER EVIL ARGUS # 2
What's in the issue:
- Deathstroke and his Society goons versus Steve Trevor
- A daring presidential rescue
- Dr. Light is still alive!
- Killer Frost and her longing for Firestorm
and of course, a nice reveal on how many rooms does ARGUS have in their disposal. I like the idea of the President having the only key to all the rooms. And to refresh your memory, we've already seen the Red Room which was where Batman brought Cyborg. There's also the Black Room which we first see in Justice League Dark. Here are the rest of the scans.
(Red Room, Black Room and the Circus)
They also have the Green Room which is a magical panic room for Obama.
Oh and there's one other special room that Steve Trevor likes to keep for himself... The Wonder Room.
It's where some Wonder Woman related stuff gets stored, partly as trophies and partly to remind Steve that once upon a time, he had Diana in his arms.
I want to know more about this. Hopefully DC Comics gets to focus more on this.

Tim Daly Squares Off Against Kevin Conroy
Happened in an episode of "The Daly Show" which I just discovered after this video went viral (and is hilarious too). In this video Daly gets tormented by all things Batman until the man himself, Kevin Conroy makes an appearance and beats the crap out of Tim Daly (who used to voice Superman in Superman: TAS and the Dini-verse Justice League series).
Some of the more epic moments here come from Conroy quoting that famous line from the Batman-Superman fight in Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns. Oh and a couple of throwbacks to the Nolan-verse Batman movies.
But the real epic thing here was hearing Conroy spout "I am the night, I am vengeance, I am Batman".

Forever Evil # 2 Spoilers
All the interesting things from this month's FOREVER EVIL # 2 by Geoff Johns and David Finch.
Here we go.
1. OTIS from Superman the Movie makes a cameo
Johns is really a Donner fanboy. He's so much the fanboy that he stuck in Gene Hackman Lex Luthor's bumbling sidekick from the Donner "Superman the Movie" and made him a legit character.
2. The Teen Titans are back in San Francisco
Last I checked the Titans were living in a boat that was docked in New York. So now that Johns is writing the Teen Titans again, did he just transplant the young heroes to their original habitat? I want that. So many mistakes DC's done over the past two years and here's me hoping that the Teen Titans get the Titans Tower again in San Francisco.
3. Power Ring is sick...
Figuratively and literally. He needs Deathstorm (which lets assume is an evil Earth 3 version of Professor Stein) to keep whatever the hell infection at bay while doing his jome with the Crime Syndicate.
4. So many Earth 3 Questions
Who is the masked man? What did he do? How did he betray the team? What is this creature the Syndicate's so afraid of? A bigger threat or next year's main villain?
5. Classic Love Triangle
Johns takes the classic Superwoman is married to Ultraman but is in love with Owlman and turns it sideways by giving Superwoman a baby to care for and conceal. It's not Ultraman's kid too, it's Thomas Wayne Jr.'s...
Guess we need to call in Maury down the line.
6. Earth 3 Dick Grayson
Wayne and Alfred of Earth 3 are fixated with Nightwing aka Dick Grayson. We read snippets of Dick's Earth 3 counterpart and now we pan our attention to the topic once more. Could they have brought alone the good-evil version of Nightwing?
7. The Real Bizarro
Cool! The real, honest-to-goodness Bizarro is here. Whether that's cool or not, it's really up to you.
8. Goodbye Otis
Thank god Lex Luthor had Bizarro kill Otis. Thank you!
9. Johnny Quick versus Kid Flash

Always wanted to see these two fight. And now that I did, I can definitely say that Bart needs a lot of training.
10. Titans Lost in Time

Similar to that Teent Titans and Legion of Superheroes crossover that Geoff Johns did years ago, the writer has sent the teens to parts unknown thanks to the Speed Force in Bart's veins. This should be interesting. SHOULD.
11. Luthor Gears Up. Needs Kord's Tech
Luthor explains that he needed something from Kord Industries but he's willing to set that aside in order to fight Ultraman and the Crime Syndicate together with Bizarro.
12. Batman and Catwoman survived
And they brought along Victor Stone who incurred massive damage when Grid appeared out of nowhere.
Kinda slow if you ask me. Still plan on reading this through although I'm already seeing some cracks in the armor so to speak...

The Justice League Timeline Prior to the New 52
Thanks to the decades worth of continuity for DC Comics, it became pretty hard to track down or at the very least understand the changes that have happened to the Justice League/ Justice League of America. Luckily for us, Comicvine had the time and the manpower to create an infographic featuring the entire Justice League timeline until the start of the New 52 in 2011.
I apologize this being rather small but I'm sure you can zoom in the chart to the point where you actually understand what's written on it.

First Look at Darkseid for Justice League: War
Here's our very first look at the main villain for the next DC Animated feature "Justice League: War" - Darkseid.
This baddie will be voiced by Steve Blum which I hope will do justice for the character. I wonder when we'll see the cover art. Hopefully they get to churn out a cover done by artist Alex Garner.
Here's the synopsis: The world is under attack by alien species led by Darkseid. Batman and Green Lantern must gather a group of superheroes and form the Justice League to defend Earth.
Justice League: War is a follow – up to the previous DC Entertainment offering, Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox, and based on the first New 52 Justice League story arc.
Justice League: War will be released in 2014

JUSTICE LEAGUE # 23.2 LOBO Review
So it's finally here, the controversial issue featuring the emo-looking Lobo with the cover featuring the fan-favorite Lobo. So what gives?
"Deep in the dark corridors of space lives a black-hearted being of unimaginable power. He’s witnessed horrors beyond description and committed unparalleled evils. In all of history, no being has ever been capable of as much chaos and terror as this lone individual. This is the story of the man called Lobo. He’s coming. And he’s bringing all of hell with him."
Written by: Marguerite Bennett
Art by: Ben Oliver
Cover by: Aaron Kuder
Color/B&W: Color
Page Count: 32
U.S. Price: 3.99
On Sale Date: Sep 11 2013
In this issue we find out that there's two Lobos running around the galaxy. Don't be fooled by the cover as while we may be seeing the Main man himself in the cover, the interiors feature the "other" Lobo, the one that looks very, very emo-ish and the one that got bashed alot the moment DC decided to hype up the release.
Can't blame them though. Although I really did reserve judgment till the issue was released.
The approach of the LOBO one shot is to show readers how this Lobo operates, how he sees things and how he reacts to specific situations. Writer Marguerite Bennett plays those bits rather well. Move past the fact that this is supposed to be the 'real' Lobo.
If there's anything this new Lobo shows that's different is that he's devoid of compassion and remorseless in a bad kind of way. The old school Lobo was all of that and more but he showed kindness once in awhile; and I do mean once in a while. This one's just as cold as ice. Think of the film "The Transporter" except that Jason Statham placed Shu Qi back into the trunk of the car rather than letting her go pee.
And it's this kind of thing that kinda makes you not warm up to the guy. Sure he looks cool as hell (not digging the Twilight comparison, although I admit he does look like a child of a Goth dad and an emo mom.)Lobo was fun in a controlled violence kind of way and it's really not here with the New 52 version. What I'm seriously waiting for however is the impending meeting between the 'real' Lobo and the 'fake' Lobo on Earth.
Oh and on a final note, if your looking for any ties for Forever Evil, there's none actually. DC just used the 'absence' of the Justice League as a time to explore other characters. That's really all there is to it.
I'm still giving props to Marguerite Bennett and Ben Oliver for a surprising good issue they churned out but I still need more New 52 Lobo appearances to pass judgment because this alone cannot cut it.
