Cumberbitches Should Get Ready for IDW's Star Trek Khan

Reports are coming in that IDW will be releasing a new miniseries entitled Star Trek: Khan which will feature Benedict Cumberbatch's Khan during the alluded 'Eugenics War' from Star Trek Into Darkness.

The new project will be written by Mike Johnson with art by Claudia Balboni. Even better is the fact that Into Darkness writer Roberto Orci will be overseeing the project to tie-in accurately with the events of the JJ Abrams helmed sequel.

Star Trek: Khan will be released in October. Gotta remind myself to reserve a copy for review despite me not being a HUGE fan of Cumberbatch.

More Than 4.6 Million Comic Books Ordered for Free Comic Book Day

Comic book specialty retailers worldwide expect record attendance at this year’s Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) and have also pushed their ordering to record levels—with more than 4.6 million free comic books to be available the day of the event, May 4, 2013.

Nearly 2,000 retail accounts have signed up this year as participating stores for Free Comic Book Day—also a record number of participating stores—and expectations are high.

FCBD is the day after the opening of the Marvel’s Iron Man 3 film, and thousands of comic book shops across North America and around the world will look to share the magic of comic books with their communities,” said FCBD spokesperson Leslie Bowser. “It’s really a wonderful time for comic shops as they are clearly energized from a full year of strong sales and will look to continue that positive trend going forward in 2013.”

IDW has New Ghostbusters Book Starring Janine and New Ghostbusters Team

Janine Melnitz, the Ghostbusters' secretary takes over as leader for a new team with new members to boot with the release of a new ongoing 'New Ghostbusters' book from IDW

This new (and interesting book) is written by Erik Burnham with art by Dan Schoening and colors by Luis Antonio Delgado

The premise for this new series is pretty simple. The Real Ghostbusters have mysteriously vanished without a trace leaving Janine all alone in the Ghostbusters H.Q. Problem is, there are still ghosts running rampant so she decides to kickstart a new team of Ghostbusters with several new faces side by side with some returning (read Kylie Griffin from the shortlived 'Extreme Ghostbusters')

Transformers Robots in Disguise # 11 Spoilers - Arcee is One Badass Autobot Chick

Also on the frying pan today is Transformers Robots in Disguise # 11 (by John Barber and Guido Guidi) featuring the return of Arcee who was visibly absent during much of the past events.

So what happens basically in this issue is that Starscream tries to grab power from the budding Cybertronian society. This is made even clear when a contemporary of Omega Supreme, Metrotitan, tells the former Decepticon that he will usher in a new age of glory for the dead robot planet. This does not sit well with Autobot leader Bumblebee and his second-in-command Prowl who thinks that this will all implode on the traitorous Decepticon lackey.

Chew - Of Nazi Gingreadmen and Trippy Art

John Layman and Rob Guillory's Chew has always been one of the comic books that I was really interested in but was never really able to catch up with.

I knew that the lead character Tony Chu is a Cibopath (you'll find out later) which led to the apt title of the book.

But the art by Guillory together with the story and imagery for the special issue that was released by IDW Publishing would probably be the biggest reason why I'm getting this book and try to catch up on the current storyline.
