Cumberbitches Should Get Ready for IDW's Star Trek Khan

Reports are coming in that IDW will be releasing a new miniseries entitled Star Trek: Khan which will feature Benedict Cumberbatch's Khan during the alluded 'Eugenics War' from Star Trek Into Darkness.

The new project will be written by Mike Johnson with art by Claudia Balboni. Even better is the fact that Into Darkness writer Roberto Orci will be overseeing the project to tie-in accurately with the events of the JJ Abrams helmed sequel.



Star Trek: Khan will be released in October. Gotta remind myself to reserve a copy for review despite me not being a HUGE fan of Cumberbatch.

Captain Kirk and Lando Calrisian Gives Sage Advice to JJ Abrams

Star Trek Into Darkness director J.J. Abrams went on Jimmy Kimmel recently and we get a totally geeky moment when William Shatner in semi-Captain Kirk persona together with Billy Dee Williams as Lando Calrissian from Star Wars make an appearance and gives sage advice for the Star Wars director. Watch the clip below for this one. 



I loved how Williams wanted to do the new Star Wars trilogy with Lando Calrissian together with a galaxy filled with sexy, beautiful women. And agree with Chewbacca getting it on Princess Leia.

Star Trek Into Darkness Non-Spoiler Review

I've seen JJ Abrams' follow-up to his rebooted Star Trek movie entitled "Star Trek Into Darkness" courtesy of Solar Entertainment. Is it a victim to the 'sequel curse' or does it stand in line proudly with the pedigree of the first movie?

Let me just get out of my system that initially I didn't have any respect for Benedict Cumberbatch. That statement alone will probably earn me some flak from the British actor's fangirls (there's a lot actually, the screening I attended alone had lots of young to teen-ish girls lining up to see Kh err, John Harrison).  Yes, now stick around and find out what I think of him after cut. 

So What Do Klingons Look Like in JJ Abram's Star Trek 2?

We've seen how radically different and at the same time similar the aliens are in JJ Abram's first Star Trek movie, sadly there was a huge gaping hole that was the Klingons in that movie. With Star Trek: Into Darkness however, that hole is gonna get filled with Klingons. Lots and lots of them. In fact, here's a look at what these 'new' Klingons look like under those scary looking helmets.

There's an Advance Screening of Star Trek 2 in a Laguna Bound Bus

Was amused that the bus I got on was playing movies close to home. However the biggest surprise was when the bus conductor popped in this DVD.

Yeah so apparently they've already shown Star Trek Into Darkness months before the release date. Talk about a bad case of 'advance copies'. I was actually expecting that the movie attached to the image above would be the first Star Trek film directed by J.J. Abrams but it was actually.... Wrath of Khan.

I smell foreshadowing somewhere along these lines.

The official Star Trek facebook fanpage released this new teaser poster for the upcoming sequel to J.J. Abrams' Star Trek saga entitled "Star Trek Into Darkness".

Official Synopsis: "When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated everything the fleet stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis.
