22 Jump Street Gets a Teaser Poster

Columbia Pictures and MGM have just revealed the teaser poster of “22 Jump Street,” the sequel to the 2012 action-comedy blockbuster “21 Jump Street.”

“22 Jump Street” reunites Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum as they return to their roles as undercover cops Schmidt and Jenko; they are also re-teaming with 21 Jump Street producer Neal H. Moritz ("Fast and Furious" franchise) and directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (“Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs,” upcoming “The LEGO Movie”). Alongside Hill and Tatum, Ice Cube reprises his role as Captain Dickson.
After making their way through high school (twice), big changes are in store for officers Schmidt (Hill) and Jenko (Tatum) when they go deep undercover at a local college. But when Jenko meets a kindred spirit on the football team, and Schmidt infiltrates the bohemian art major scene, they begin to question their partnership. Now they don't have to just crack the case - they have to figure out if they can have a mature relationship. If these two overgrown adolescents can grow from freshmen into real men, college might be the best thing that ever happened to them.

Cannell. The production films in New Orleans and Puerto Rico.

J. Law for the win!

The film was directed by David O. Russell, the same guy who directed films Three Kings, Silver Linings Playbook and The Fighter (which I have yet to see).

You know there's a popculture quip/ reference somewhere here. Ah yes, "remember that movie where Batman was a crime boss looking guy with Mystique and Lois Lane wearing very revealing clothing and Rocket Raccoon and Hawkeye looked like they stepped out of the set of "Starsky and Hutch".

Blergh. corny I know.

New Thor: The Dark World Posters Featuring Odin and Loki

Two new posters for the upcoming Marvel Studios film "Thor: The Dark World" has been released featuring the All-Father Odin and the god of mischief, Loki.

The new poster features LOKI played by Tom Hiddleston posed as if he just broke out of his prison cell. Meanwhile the Odin poster features Anthony Hopkins together with his two ravens, which I presume is named Hugin and Munin.

If you remember in Avengers these two ravens were present during the big three way fight between Captain America, Thor and Iron Man. They were the visual representatives of Odin actually watching Thor's supposed apprehension of Loki who at the time was wanted for letting Laufey and his team to enter Asgard during the Odinsleep. (Seriously, watch that scene from the Avengers).

Check out the hi-res versions below:

And thus a million ovaries explode from that Loki poster.

THOR: THE DARK WORLD will be shown locally thru Walt Disney Studios Philippines and opens October 30, nationwide.

Japan has a Remake of LOVE ACTUALLY

I dig Japan's addiction to the film LOVE ACTUALLY. I mean who wouldn't that movie's all about the feels. and Christmas. You can't go wrong on both counts. Anyway, here's the poster and a trailer.

The remake is entitled "Subete wa Kimi ni Aeta kara" and will be set in Japan. Bleedingcool reports that changes are nominal which will include cultural references. Oh and it's also being released by Warner Bros. Japan to commemorate the 100th year of the Tokyo Station (which is very cool).

Anyway, the trailer for Subete wa Kimi ni Aeta kara.

Hmmmm. You know this reminds me of this:

Seven New Posters for "Seventh Son"

Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have rolled out seven new character one-sheets for their fantasy action adventure “Seventh Son.”

The posters separately highlight the seven important characters played by Jeff Bridges, Ben Barnes, Alicia Vikander, Kit Harington, Antje Traue, Djimon Hounsou and Julianne Moore.

In the film, Master Gregory (Bridges) is a knight who had imprisoned the malevolently powerful witch, Mother Malkin (Moore), centuries ago. But she has escaped and is seeking vengeance. Summoning her followers of every incarnation, Mother Malkin is preparing to unleash her terrible wrath on an unsuspecting world. Only one thing stands in her way: Master Gregory.

In a deadly reunion, Gregory comes face to face with the evil he always feared would someday return. He has only until the next full moon to do what usually takes years: train his new apprentice, Tom Ward (Barnes) to fight a dark magic unlike any other. Man’s only hope lies in the seventh son of a seventh son.

“Seventh Son” is directed by award-winning filmmaker Sergei Bodrov, director of the Oscar®-nominated foreign language films “Mongol: The Rise of Genghis Khan” and “Prisoner of the Mountains.”

Opening across the Philippines in January 2014, “Seventh Son” is a presentation of Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures, and will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

Teaser Poster for X-Men: Days of Future Past Featuring Young and Old Xavier and Magneto

Fresh from SDCC 2013 comes two new posters for Bryan Singer's X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST featuring the old and young version of Magneto and Charles Xavier.

If you're not aware, the young Magneto, as seen in X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, was played by Michael Fassbender while the elder Mags was done in the original trilogy by Sir Ian McKellen.

As for Charles Xavier, we've got Patrick Stewart for the older version and James McAvoy (Wanted, Trance) as the younger version.

We have to thank Entertainment Weekly for showing us this amazing teaser poster. That alone will stoke fans who are preparing for the worldwide release next year.

Interestingly enough, McAvoy is definitely sporting the dishiveled look, the same look he was spotted a month or so ago on the set of the film. Are they going to go with that look for the entire film?

Also it seems like the older gentlemen are definitely wearing the battle armor that was seen earlier.

First Look Black Butler Live Action Poster

Another entry into weird animes that get optioned into live action films is Black Butler aka KUROSHITSUJI . And now it's got a poster out.

I tried watching it in it's anime version but it's too cutesy for my standards. Still will give this a try what with Japanese film makers hitting high notes with their film adaptation of anime property (with the exception perhaps of the live action Ranma 1/2 series that made my head ache.).

SYNOPSIS: KUROSHITSUJI  was written by Yana Toboso. The manga series follows Sebastian Michaelis (Hiro Mizushima), a demonic servant bound by an ironclad supernatural contract to Ciel Phantomhive (Ayame Gōriki), the 13-year-old head of the Phantomhive aristocrat family. The live-action film is taking a few liberties with the manga source material, setting the events of the film in a fictional 2020 metropolitan urban landscaped comprised of East and Western cultures. The story follows Ciel who's out to find her family's killer and enlists the aid of her demonic butler Michaelis, with the caveat that once their quest is complete, Ciel must relinquish her soul to Sebastian.

Kentaro Otani (NANA) and Keiichi Satou (Tiger & Bunny) are co-directing the film. The film will be released in Japan in first quarter of 2014.

First Official GODZILLA Poster

We've already seen the Mondo inspired SDCC 2013 exclusive Godzilla poster, now Legendary Pictures presents the first official teaser poster for the 2014 Godzilla movie.

The scale for this character from the film directed by Gareth Edwards is huge. Actually come to think of it, it's on the scale of the Jaegers and Kaiju from Guillermo Del Toro's "Pacific Rim".

Here's the official word from our friends at Warner Bros. Pictures Philippines:

"Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures have just released a new image art for the upcoming tent pole “Godzilla.” Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen, and Juliette Binoche are starring in the film, with David Strathairn and Bryan Cranston.

Gareth Edwards is directing the film from a screenplay by Max Borenstein, Frank Darabont and Dave Callaham. Legendary’s Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni are producing with Mary Parent and Brian Rogers. Alex Garcia and Patricia Whitcher are serving as executive producers alongside Yoshimitsu Banno and Kenji Okuhira.

Opening across the Philippines on May 15, 2014, “Godzilla” will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company"

Tom Cruise's All You Need is Kill Renamed Edge of Tomorrow and Gets New Poster

Been wondering what happened to the live-action, Western adaptation of the manga "All You Need is Kill" as it suddenly dropped off the grid. Apparently it's back with a new name and a pretty interesting poster as well coming from SDCC 2013.

The movie is now being called "Edge of Tomorrow" and will still star Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt.

Dug up some 'new' stuff for the film as well:

Seriously what is up with Tom Cruise movies and their titles? I mean, OBLIVION? EDGE OF TOMORROW? I smell Scientology at work here.

If I'm not mistaken this will be distributed locally by Warner Bros. Pictures.

Legendary and Warner Reveals Godzilla Poster for SDCC 2013

It's that time of the year again when just about the cool stuff gets released and I go batshit crazy trying to catch up. Yep, it's Comic Con International once again. For our opening salvo, here's the GODZILLA poster unveiled for SDCC 2013.

The movie will be released next year (distributed locally by Warner Bros. Pictures Philippines). It's directed by Gareth Edwards and stars Aaron Taylor- Johnson.

Spike Lee's Old Boy Poster is Out and it Looks...

... horrible. Really.

Reading up on the comments from Joblo's facebook fanpage and it seems like there are a lot of people who are unhappy with the output for this poster. And I agree. It doesn't provide the oomph that can be found within this film. More importantly, the photography and the imagery made this look like a direct to DVD B-movie as opposed to something that's produced by legendary director Spike Lee

Also I don't dig Josh Brolin's look here. It's so far off from the classic Korean movie directed by Park Chan-Woo (Stoker).

Plus I don't see Brolin locking in this scene:
