HOT TOYS MAN OF STEEL GENERAL ZOD Preview

Here's a preview for HOT TOYS' GENERAL ZOD figure based on the likeness of actor Michael Shannon from the film MAN OF STEEL.

Here's the official word from Hot Toys from their Facebook Fanpage:

“You are not alone.” Hot Toys has previously presented the Superman and Jor-El Collectible Figures from Man of Steel and we are very excited to introduce the next character to join the series – General Zod.

Determined to rebuild Krypton and restore the Kryptonian race, General Zod has searched across an ocean of stars for Kal-El and the codex. Upon confrontation with Superman, General Zod proves to be a formidable opponent and engages in intense battle across the city during the climax of the movie.

The movie-accurate collectible is specially crafted based on the image of Michael Shannon as General Zod in the movie which features a detailed head sculpt, interchangeable armored head, and meticulously constructed costume."

I got no problem with this figure but I'm really hoping that you can remove the armor so that you can imitate that last scene from MAN OF STEEL.

These screenshots of course came from the recent Zod-centric trailer for Zack Snyder and Christopher Nolan's vision for Superman.

The promotion for Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures' MAN OF STEEL is kicking into overdrive as we're seeing a barrage of different photos from various sources. The one below however takes the cake this week, two different covers for Empire featuring Superman and his Kryptonian nemesis General Zod.

More photos including the Empire cover featuring Zod after the cut.

Everything about the new Zod is menacing and intimidating, well everything except Michael Shannon's bowl cut.

Meanwhile check out the lo-res photos from Entertainment Weekly featuring Faora and much more.

This one I like mainly because of the pre-heat vision signature look

Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, Kevin Costner, Russell Crowe, Laurence Fishburne and more. It's directed by Zack Snyder and is produced by Christopher Nolan. Locally distributed by Warner Bros. Philippines and opens June 2013.

A Closer Look at the Man of Steel Emblems

I'm always fascinated by coat-of-arms and so here's me analyzing or failing at analyzing the 'coat-of-arms' which will be seen in Warner Bros.' "Man of Steel" starring Henry Cavill as Superman/ Clark Kent.

So let's see is really just a skewered version of the "S" shield logo from "Superman Returns". Rather than sticking to the classic look, the creative team for the movie added some nice touches such as the intertwining lines. They've also managed to fatten up the middle part of the logo. Love what they did to the upper "S", they made it look sleeker like somehow getting inspiration from a car logo or something.

Superman is Chained and Arrested in Man of Steel Teaser Poster

Henry Cavill's Superman is chained and dragged away in this new poster for Zack Snyder's Man of Steel.

I've heard reports of this scene as early as SDCC 2012 but I wasn't counting on this being the first promotional poster for the movie. Anyway the new Superman movie from Warner Bros. will also star Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Michael Shannon as General Zod and is produced by The Dark Knight Rises director Christopher Nolan.

Here's what our friends from Warner Bros. Philippines official statement for this new poster:
