Horror Comes Alive in Evil Dead

A remote cabin in the woods becomes a blood-soaked chamber of horrors when a group of 20-something friends unwittingly awakens an ancient demon in Columbia Pictures' “Evil Dead,” the highly anticipated reboot of Sam Raimi’s 1981 cult-hit horror film “The Evil Dead.”

Featuring a fresh young cast, “Evil Dead” is a bone-chilling film that combines all the raw excitement and gleeful gore of the acclaimed original with a series of shocking new twists.

Mia (Jane Levy), a young woman whose life has been marred by loss and addiction, asks her brother David (Shiloh Fernandez), his girlfriend Natalie (Elizabeth Blackmore) and their childhood friends Olivia (Jessica Lucas) and Eric (Lou Taylor Pucci) to join her at the family’s rustic cabin to help her overcome her demons. Once there, she ceremoniously destroys the last of her stash and swears off drugs for good in front of her friends.

Three Storyboards for Proposed Spider-Man 4

Sam Raimi had already begun work on the fourth Spider-Man movie when Sony decided to do a revamp which ultimately led to Marc Webb's Amazing Spider-Man. That was that until today, Jefrey Henderson shared three interesting storyboards from the film. Here's what I got off of his website.

  

What in tarnation is that devilish loking thing that Spidey's swinging our way? For a movie that's supposed to feature John Malkovich as Adrian Toomes/ The Vulture and Anne Hathaway as Catwoman Black Cat there's not much to go on with. 

 Wait, maybe that's not MJ, but instead it's Felicia Hardy. That'd be cool... I think...

What's Going to Happen to the first Amazing Spider-Man Costume?

We already know that Andrew Garfield will be wearing a different costume for Marc Webb's for Amazing Spider-Man 2. We know that it's going to look like the Raimi Spidey trilogy costume so what's going to happen to the old costume?

So news on the webvine, is that the old costume will still make an appearance in the new movie. To hammer the point, there was a photo released featuring Garfield's stunt double for Spider-Man wearing the costume during the production of the film. 

I'm speculating that the costume will get burned badly or will be damaged beyond repair which will force Parker (played by Garfield) to create a new and improved costume. Maybe Jamie Foxx (who plays Electro) does significant damage to Parker early on in the movie. If you look at the photo, it doesn't look like it's tremendously damaged.

Oz the Great and Powerful Review

Here's my review for Oz the Great and Powerful starring James Franco, Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz and Michelle Williams. The film will be locally distributed by Walt Disney Pictures Philippines. 

The film is directed by Sam Raimi and is a prequel to the 1939 "Wizard of Oz". This flick basically explains why the Wizard was in Oz as well as the origins of the Wicked Witches of the east AND west. 

The movie is pretty to look at especially if you catch the flick in 3D.  

Marc Webb Reveals Amazing Spider-Man 2 Costume Design

Superherohype shows us what the Spider-Man would look like for Amazing Spider-Man 2 which is still directed by Marc Webb and will still star Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone.

Rachel Weisz - From Bourne Legacy to Oz the Great and Powerful

Coming off the box-office success of “The Bourne Legacy,” Oscar-winner Rachel Weisz now plays Evanora, the witch who rules over the Emerald City, in Walt Disney Pictures' new 3D fantasy-adventure, “Oz The Great and Powerful.”

Directed by Sam Raimi, imagines the origins of the beloved wizard character, who made his debut in author L. Frank Baum’s first book “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.”

Weisz raves about her time on the project, saying, “What really appealed to me about playing Evanora was that I got to be a bad girl. She has a lot of fun being bad and I think that’s what appealed to me about the character. I loved the script. I thought it was a great imagining of the origin story of the wizard and the witches.”

Michelle Williams is Glinda the Good Witch in 'Oz the Great and Powerful'

Three-time Academy Award-nominee Michelle Williams (“My Week With Marilyn”) plays Glinda, the Good Witch who tries to convince Oscar (James Franco) that the Land of Oz is in trouble at the hands of the evil Evanora, in Walt Disney Pictures’ fantastical adventure “Oz the Great and Powerful.”

At the same time, Glinda is hoping Oscar is the answer to the land’s prophecy—that a wizard will someday come and restore order.

Director Sam Raimi says of casting Williams for the role, “Michelle has a real positive spirit and depth of soul. She’s a good person and I needed that in the actress who was going to play Glinda.”

New Character Posters for Oz the Great and Powerful

The character posters of Disney's fantastical adventure “Oz the Great and Powerful” have been released by the studio. The one-sheets individually highlight the main characters played by James Franco (Oscar Diggs), Rachel Weisz (Evanora), Michelle Williams (Glinda) and Mila Kunis (Theodora).

“Oz The Great and Powerful,” directed by Sam Raimi, imagines the origins of L. Frank Baum’s beloved character, the Wizard of Oz. When Oscar Diggs, a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he’s hit the jackpot—fame and fortune are his for the taking—that is until he meets three witches, Theodora, Evanora and Glinda, who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone’s been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity—and even a bit of wizardry—Oscar transforms himself not only into the great and powerful Wizard of Oz but into a better man as well.

Another Photo from the Evil Dead Remake

Columbia Pictures has just unveiled the second official photo from “Evil Dead,” the much anticipated remake of Sam Raimi's 1981 cult-hit horror film “The Evil Dead.”

The image features lead star Jane Levy with an utterly terrified facial expression, in keeping with the tone of the teaser trailer which was launched to wild reactions a few weeks ago.

In the new movie directed by Fede Alvarez, five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin where they discover a Book Of The Dead and unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.

A core cast of young, fresh talent includes Jane Levy (“Suburgatory”) as Mia; Shiloh Fernandez (“Deadgirl,” “Red Riding Hood”) as David; Lou Taylor Pucci (“Carriers”) as Eric; Jessica Lucas (“Cloverfield”) as Olivia and Elizabeth Blackmore (“Legend of the Seeker”) as Natalie.
