When Electro rises, Spider-Man's greatest enemies will unite. Will Peter Parker pay the ultimate price to be the hero he is destined to become?

With barely two months before the grand debut of “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” in Philippine theatres on April 30, Columbia Pictures has revved up its marketing campaign by releasing a new, 3-minute footage called “Rise of Electro.” The video featurette can be viewed here at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8OyDon_PpJw

Amazing Spider-Man 2" Releases Part 2 of Super Bowl Ad, "Enemies Unite" Sizzle Reel

The good folks at Sony Pictures and Columbia Pictures Philippines sent the two part trailer for "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" which was released during this year's Super Bowl.

Immediately following its broadcast, the second part of the Super Bowl ad for “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” has just been widely released by Columbia Pictures and can be viewed at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwDmOUM078o.

To further please fans' clamor, the studio has also made available the almost four-minute sizzle video called “Enemies Unite” which can be watched here at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dW5u_y27LmQ.

We've always known that Spider-Man's most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in “The Amazing Spider-Man 2,” Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.

It's great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there's no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.

(Opening across the Philippines on April 30, “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” is distributed by Columbia Pictures, local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International.)

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Director Marc Webb and his Plans for the Franchise

Here's a Q&A from Columbia Pictures Philippines in relation to the recently released trailer for Amazing Spider-Man 2 featuring the film's director Marc Webb.

As the marketing campaign of Columbia Pictures' “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” kicks into high gear, director Marc Webb (who also helmed the first) has decided to let the fans in on previously guarded plot details regarding the highly awaited sequel. Let the revelations begin!

Question: What do you want people to know about “The Amazing Spider-Man 2”?

Marc Webb: Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield) is in for the greatest battle of his life. We begin the film with Spider-Man loving being Spider-Man – he's smooth, having fun and the best crime fighter the world has ever seen. He's got his webs, he's got his agility and he's got his wit. But soon, Peter will have to face a foe more powerful than he can imagine. In a tragic twist of fate, Max Dillon (Jamie Foxx) transforms from Spider-Man's biggest fan to his biggest foe.

Q: What is Spider-Man facing in this film?

Webb: Peter Parker loves being Spider-Man. He wouldn’t change it for anything. But he’s always faced the challenge of how to be the hero without letting it take over his life. Can you be Spider-Man and stop the bad guys and also have another life – a girlfriend and a home life? And this time, that conflict is more important and treacherous than ever.

The_Amazing_Spider-Man_2_23

Q: What’s new?

Webb: We’ve got the biggest, most dangerous villain Spider-Man has ever faced: Electro. You know, by now, Spider-Man is really good at being Spider-Man and I wanted a foe worthy of his skills. With Electro, nature comes alive. He harnesses the power of the city, merges with it and uses it to devastate New York City. Electricity surges from his hands in bolts that instantly fry anything in their path. As he gains access to more power the city's prospects dim. He is light. He is darkness.

Q: Tell us more about Electro.

Webb: Max Dillon represents the shadow side of admiration. A once-beaten down outsider, Electro's rage has built up after years of rejection and loneliness and transforms into terror itself. His adoration of Spider-Man is obsessive. There's something like Rupert Pupkin in him – a sweetness that covers up a psychotic break. That psychosis is at the heart of what will become a deep and abiding hatred for Spider-Man.

Q: It seems that a lot of the Spider-Man villains come from OsCorp.

Webb: Yes, and that’s no coincidence. Of course, Max and Gwen (Emma Stone) both work at OsCorp, and Harry Osborn returns to decide how he is going to handle the responsibility of being the heir apparent to OsCorp. All of that will lead Peter into the great mysteries of OsCorp, and eventually he will face his greatest battle of all.

The_Amazing_Spider-Man_2_19

Q: How does Harry Osborn fit in?

Webb: Harry (Dane DeHaan) was one of Peter's childhood friends, but they lost touch. Now he's back and getting ready to take the reins of OsCorp. As Peter and Harry start to uncover the mysteries of OsCorp, the company built by Harry's father, Harry will have to decide how he will live with his father's perilous legacy at the one place that houses all of these villains.

Q: What’s going on with Peter and Gwen?

Webb: Peter and Gwen love each other, but they will both have to make choices and figure out their own paths. Gwen’s brilliant in her own right and she is starting to get offers that could shape her entire life. They’re going to have to figure out what roles they will play in each other’s lives.

Q: It seems like you had a lot of fun making this movie.

Webb: Oh yeah. All of us did. We had a ball shooting this movie on location in New York – the first Spider-Man movie shot entirely in New York. We really made it a bigger film by shooting on location and you feel it on screen. For all of us, we remember being kids, eight or nine or ten years old, that fell in love with Spider-Man when we were growing up. We remember those feelings of wonder and awe and excitement; they’re a very big part of the foundation of Spider-Man and what gives him his appeal.

The Hi-Res Banner and Several Photos from Amazing Spider-Man 2

With just hours away from the release of the teaser trailer for Sony Pictures' Amazing Spider-Man 2 I'm putting this up. It's the triptych banner plus several new stills for the film which stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Paul Giamatti and Jamie Foxx

Cosmicbooknews also shared a new synopsis for the Marc Webb film:

We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.

Now time to check out the stills.

And as a bonus, here's what the Rhino will look in the movie.

As early as now, I'd like to slap the designers for making such a weird ass looking Rhino.

Did I Just See Doc Ock and The Vulture's Gear in the Amazing Spider-Man 2 Trailer?

There's a leaked Russian dubbed trailer of Amazing Spider-Man 2 that's been posted HERE and it looks very interesting.

One of the biggest "oh-shit" moments here was seeing what appears to be Norman Osborn's lair/ armory which appears to have as part of the things on display Dr. Octopus' tentacles and the Vultures' wing gear. Here's the screenshot.

The footage was shaky and a bit blurred but if you're familiar with the Spider-Man mythos, it's really just there.

There's also a gorgeous fight chase between Spidey and Electro towards the end. Click on the link above if you're so raring to catch the trailer. Or you can alternatively wait for Thursday (Dec. 5) to see the English version.

So that technically confirms the news that Colm Feore is playing The Vulture for part 3; in the sense that there's already the flight gear resting in Osborn's lair. Or maybe not, it's still years before we see ASM3 so things might change.

Oh and SINISTER FREAKING SIX!

Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be released locally by Columbia Pictures.

Chris Cooper's Green Goblin is Still a Power Ranger

If Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin was the visual equivalent of every green Power Ranger, wait till you get a load of what Marc Webb did with his version of Peter Parker's eternal nemesis Norman Osborn.

So without further ado, here's Chris Cooper's take on Norman Osborn aka The Green Goblin for "Amazing Spider-Man 2".

Still too much tech and silver which makes him follow the standard Super Sentai/ Tokusatsu trope of being a Silver Ranger. LOL. Just joking but man, that's still not Green Goblin-y enough. Although Jamie Foxx's Electro looks totally bad ass.

A SINISTER SIX Reference Spotted in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Set

Is Mark Webb really pulling all the stops by bringing together the classic SINISTER SIX?

If we're going to believe the markings on the wall on the set of AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 it looks like this is actually coming true.

I sincerely think that Webb will do it plus I'm really quite interested with the characters of choice. Obviously, they will go back and get Rhys Ifans' Lizard/ Curt Connors. They also have Jamie Foxx's Electro which will be the main antagonist for Peter Parker's alter-ego in ASM 2. We also have Paul Giamatti's THE RHINO, although we really haven't seen him yet. And the brains of the operation goes to Chris Cooper's Norman Osborn aka Green Goblin.

That's two shy of six I know, and there's a lot of ground to cover between ASM 2 and ASM 3 so all we have to do is play the waiting game. One thing that you have to consider though is where the supposed 'VENOM' movie and spinoff falls under. Maybe that will evolve and come out of the events of ASM 3 and that Venom could be part of the Sinister Six.

Let's just wait and see.

Entertainment Weekly's Amazing Spider-Man 2 Cover

Today we get to see our first legit look at Jamie Foxx as Spider-Man villain Electro for Marc Webb's "Amazing Spider-Man 2" from Sony Pictures... (Check out the full cover below)

That's a pretty neat looking Electro. Good job to the production crew for the movie. It's pretty obvious that this version of Electro means business and looks a tad more like the Ultimate Universe version of the villain which I think was a good idea...

Plus he'd be more credible and intimidating as a villain in this form rather than the classic 616 version of the character which looked like this:

Colm Feore Rumored to be The Vulture for Amazing Spider-Man 2

Actor Colm Feore's role in Marc Webb has been a tight secret with several speculators thinking that he'll be another villain waiting in the wings. Today Comicbookmovie confirms that Feore will indeed play a villain for the third movie and that he'll be playing a character that can fly - The Vulture.

From what I understood from the post, Feore will play Adrian Toomes, the brilliant old man who created an electro-magnetic harness then turns to a life of crime as The Vulture. The slow exposition and transformation will happen in Amazing Spider-Man 2 but the actual fights might occur in Amazing Spider-Man 3.

Amazing Spider-Man 2 Set Photo Features Gwen Stacy Rescue

The latest set of 'leaked' set photos from Marc Webb's Amazing Spider-Man 2 shows Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man swinging with real life girlfriend Emma Stone who plays Gwen Stacy once more.

What's really interesting here isn't the shot or the action but rather what Emma's wearing. Yes, she's wearing the classic 'Dead Stacy' dress, the one which was shown HERE.

It's Graduation Time for Peter and Gwen in Set Pics from Amazing Spider-Man 2

Life is definitely moving on for Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker and Emma Stone's Gwen Stacy in the new set photos for the film 'Amazing Spider-Man 2' directed by Marc Webb.

More photos after the cut. The one on top however is already an instant classic. Right now I already want a Movie Master Hot Toys figure, a Marvel Select figure and a Marvel Minimate variant of this one.

Paul Giamatti Isn't In the Rhino Suit But Looks Mean in Amazing Spider-Man 2 Set Pic

We all know actor Paul Giamatti will be playing the role of Aleksei Sytsevich aka The Rhino for Marc Webb's Amazing Spider-Man 2 and now we're seeing our first glimpse at the actor minus the grey, warty costume.

So what does this picture tell us?

(A) That those lines on his forehead could be the markers for the costume he'll later be stuck with? (B) That he's probably going to run over somebody (maybe Emma Stone) with what appears to be a truck, because thats how rhinos roll y'know. (c) He's trying to escape and thus driving furiously away from his captors.

I guess we just have to wait for Amazing Spider-Man 2 to come out. Oh and Jamie Foxx's Max Dillon in this film kinda already sucked. The Electro getup was good but the human persona he's playing just looks dumb.

ASM 2 will be distributed locally by Columbia Pictures Philippines and stars Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone just to new a few.

Emma Stone is Wearing a Very Familiar Gwen Stacy Costume for Amazing Spider-Man 2

Joblo shared two new images from the set of Marc Webb's Amazing Spider-Man 2 featuring Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) wearing something that's very familiar to Spider-Man fans...

Find out what Emma was seen wearing during production of Amazing Spider-Man 2 after the cut.

First Look at Jamie Foxx as Electro for Amazing Spider-Man 2

Here's what Jamie Foxx looks like when he takes on the role of Spider-Man villain Electro for Marc Webb's 'Amazing Spider-Man 2'.

As my friend and fellow popculture blogger Tim pointed out, this is very much the Ultimate Version of Electro as opposed to the white guy from the Marvel Comics 616 Universe.

Update: Found a couple of additional lo-res photos for Jamie Foxx as Electro:

See the Destruction Jamie Foxx's Electro Does in Amazing Spider-Man 2

Director Marc Webb once again shares some new production photos from the set of his new movie 'Amazing Spider-Man 2' starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Jamie Foxx. The photo you're seeing below however is a shot of the destruction caused by Jamie Foxx's character Electro in the film.

As Firstshowing.net noted, the film is already in it's 45th day so we're definitely bound to see what Foxx looks like as the Spider-Man rogue.

What's Going to Happen to the first Amazing Spider-Man Costume?

We already know that Andrew Garfield will be wearing a different costume for Marc Webb's for Amazing Spider-Man 2. We know that it's going to look like the Raimi Spidey trilogy costume so what's going to happen to the old costume?

So news on the webvine, is that the old costume will still make an appearance in the new movie. To hammer the point, there was a photo released featuring Garfield's stunt double for Spider-Man wearing the costume during the production of the film.

I'm speculating that the costume will get burned badly or will be damaged beyond repair which will force Parker (played by Garfield) to create a new and improved costume. Maybe Jamie Foxx (who plays Electro) does significant damage to Parker early on in the movie. If you look at the photo, it doesn't look like it's tremendously damaged.

And just for your reference, here's the old costume that was used for the Amazing Spider-Man...
