Disney Removes 'New' Merida After Sparking Controversy

Looks like Disney is getting some problems with their female fans as there are parents and kids alike who are unhappy with the new rendition of Disney Princess Merida from the film 'Brave'.

So let's analyze what went wrong with this new 'redesign' but lets do it after the break.

So according to these concerned individuals, the 'new' Merida has become a hyper-sexualized version of the Brave main character. One Tumblr post I read from female geeks swaying on the feminist side says that the new Merida has gone 'under the knife' which includes smaller hips, a come-hitherto set of eyes and a slightly larger bosom.

I don't know but I don't think the small changes in a Disney princess should merit some flak. She still looks like Merida. I'd raise some flags if they made major changes to her and still call her Merida, that'd be an insult. So maybe they're just over-reacting to this one.

However I do agree that the original 'look' for Merida works just as well.
