The Marvel One-shot film "All Hail the King" has been leaked and it's featuring Sir Ben Kingsley reprising his role as Trevor Slattery, the faux- "The Mandarin" from Iron Man 3.
It actually comes full circle since we will be dealing closely with the Ten Rings from Iron Man, yes the one that we were actually supposed to see in Iron Man 2 before they decided they wanted to a Hollywood version of "Demon in the Bottle"

Thoughts: I liked Trevor-Trevor not Trevor-Mandarin and while his fate is still up in the air, this one-shot provides us with a juicy tidbit, that the legit Mandarin will still be lurking somewhere in Golmera and yet to make a move against Tony Stark.
Secondly, I love that we also get treated to a Sam Rockwell appearance. Underutilized Justin Hammer is just underutilized. Quips, quips and more quips. Gotta love it. Director Drew Pierce pieced a nice short in under 15 too.
Finally, gotta hand it to the scoring for making it feel like an 'Iron Man' themed score without going all full Black Sabbath or AC/DC on us.

How the Real Mandarin Can Enter the MCU
Latino Reviews broke the news recently about Ben Kingsley working once again with Marvel Studios on a 'secret project'. Turns out, as LR reports, that Kingsley will merely be reprising his role as Trevor Slattery, the actor hired to play the Mandarin in Iron Man 3.
The report states that the real Mandarin will make an appearance in order to extract revenge on Slattery (Kingsley) after the latter and Aldritch Killian (Guy Pearce) made a mockery of his name [as seen in IRON MAN 3]
Details are very scarce and honestly, it's not yet confirmed. But on the flipside, it's pretty obvious that there's no other character that Kingsley can portray except the faux Mandarin/ Slattery. So here's a thought, what's a very plausible entry plot for The Mandarin? Obviously Marvel Studios does not intend to let the character and the epic fail-ness of Iron Man 3's main twist lie dead.
Here's how it's possible to inject Mandarin into the existing Marvel Cinematic Universe:
- The Mandarin looks for Slattery's whereabouts using agents of the TEN RINGS in 'Murica.
- Agents locate Slattery in prison (where he was being led to in his last few seconds in IM3).
- Agents kidnap/swap Slattery and bring him to a secret location.
- There's a confrontation between Slattery and the 'real' Mandarin from the shadows, with the scene focusing on the ten rings of power.
- Threats and humor are injected
- Slattery is seen being hauled to an operating room where they...
- Remove his face/ or change his face
- We see the 'real' Mandarin now wearing Trevor Slattery's face.
Relax it's my theory anyway. The thing here is that the reason The Mandarin wanted to use Slattery's face is because it's already established. He might have been outed as a fake but let's come back to the classic line in IM3; "You'll never see me coming". By using the fake's face, the governments and people like Tony Stark won't see him coming. They would even see him as a joke, a farce; which will serve him better because he's a terrorist and he wants to always surprise his enemies.
What do you think? Does this sound feasible?

Battle School Beckons in New "Ender's Game" Posters
The fight against the bug rages on and Battle School is looking for more recruits in these new posters for the upcoming live-action adaptation of Orson Scott Card's classic book "Ender's Game".
Synopsis: In the near future, a hostile alien race called the Formics have attacked Earth. If not for the legendary heroics of International Fleet Commander Mazer Rackham (Ben Kingsley), all would have been lost. In preparation for the next attack, the highly esteemed Colonel Hyrum Graff (Harrison Ford) and the International Military are training only the best young minds to find the future Mazer.
Ender Wiggin (Asa Butterfield), a shy but strategically brilliant boy, is recruited to join the elite. Arriving at Battle School, Ender quickly and easily masters increasingly difficult challenges and simulations, distinguishing himself and winning respect amongst his peers. Ender is soon ordained by Graff as the military’s next great hope, resulting in his promotion to Command School. Once there, he’s trained by Mazer Rackham himself to lead his fellow soldiers into an epic battle that will determine the future of Earth and save the human race.
I have high hopes for this film. And uh-oh, looks like Ben Kingsley's also here. Hope we don't get any surprise twists at the end like a reveal that Mazer Rackham is actually just an actor.
Also pretty cool hashtags as well, totally loved #beahero and #discoverthetruth

Congratulations to Disney as Iron Man 3 Grosses P62.2 Million for its Opening
MANILA, April 25 – Tony Stark rewrote the record books, as Marvel's “Iron Man 3” debuted yesterday to a stunning P62.6-million – the biggest first-day gross ever in Philippine history, foreign or local film.
This was announced today by Victor R. Cabrera, Managing Director of Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Philippines, which distributed the movie. “`Iron Man 3' flew off the box office chart, soaring past the stratosphere to break the country's all-industry, all-time Opening Day records,” said Cabrera. “P62-M in one day is previously unheard of. What a boost to the industry!”
The third “Iron Man” installment surpassed the opening day record of “Spider-Man 3” at P58-million which was achieved on a May 1 Labor Day holiday back in 2007. “Iron Man 3” now also owns the biggest Wednesday gross ever in history, the biggest Marvel/Disney opening day ever, beating “Marvel's The Avenger's” record of P56-M last year.

The Mandarin Unleashes Extreme Terrorism in Iron Man 3
As with all Marvel films, there is always a tremendous amount of anticipation about what character or characters will be revealed as the villain and “Iron Man 3” continued the tradition. With so much source material to choose from, the filmmakers were happy to confirm, to the delight of the fans, that the highly anticipated character of The Mandarin would finally make his appearance after years of speculation.
“The Mandarin is unquestionably Tony Stark’s greatest enemy,” says producer Louis D’ Esposito. “He is a very frightening, modern-day terrorist who has taken motifs from all over the world and it was a very cool, relevant and scary idea. So when we were casting the role we wanted somebody whose ethnicity was not specific and we also needed somebody who was a spectacular actor.”
The filmmakers got their wish when they cast Academy Award®–winning actor Ben Kingsley as The Mandarin and for Kingsley, the Marvel Universe was a completely new world that he was excited to explore.

Gwyneth Paltrow Says Iron Man 3 Ends in Really Unexpected Way
If there is one person you can count on to be at the side of Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.), it’s the CEO of Stark Enterprises and live-in girlfriend Pepper Potts, reprised by Oscar®-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow in Marvel's “Iron Man 3.”
“Tony and Pepper are very much in a relationship,” relates Paltrow. “They’re living together, as she’s moved into his house in Malibu, and there’s a lot of comfort between them now, so it’s not the kind of tentative relationship they had in the first two films. It’s very nice to have the relationship evolve over the course of a few pictures. Robert and I have always had a really great working relationship and it’s nice to phase it into something new. There is still a lot of playful banter between the two, but it’s less tenuous.”
“There are scenes in the story between Pepper and Tony that are very emotional and loving in a fun way,” adds producer Kevin Feige. “It was important to us that the relationship between Tony and Pepper carry through all four movies including ‘Marvel’s The Avengers’ and it sort of reaches its pinnacle in ‘Iron Man 3’ in a very memorable way.”

There's also the other armor that came in today's batch of armor reveal, and thats the Mark 17 armor dubbed as the 'Heartbreaker' armor.

Iron Man 3 Shares Character Descriptions
The official character descriptions of “Iron Man 3” have just been shared by Marvel Studios. While careful not to reveal key plot twists, the descriptions are nevertheless informative and compelling. Let the guessing game begin!
Starring Robert Downey, Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, with Jon Favreau and Ben Kingsley, “Iron Man 3” is directed by Shane Black from a screenplay by Drew Pearce & Shane Black and is based on Marvel's iconic super hero Iron Man, who first appeared in the pages of "Tales of Suspense #39" in 1963 and had his solo comic book debut with "The Invincible Iron Man #1" in May of 1968.
TONY STARK/IRON MAN [Robert Downey Jr.]. Eccentric genius, billionaire, philanthropist Tony Stark is the armored super hero known as Iron Man. Decompressing from his heroic, near-self-sacrificial action as Iron Man that saved New York City from annihilation, Tony finds himself unable to sleep and plagued by worry and trepidation. When his world is destroyed and those closest to him threatened, Tony must find a way to save them—and in the process find himself again.
PEPPER POTTS [Gwyneth Paltrow]. Pepper has progressed from Tony Stark’s assistant to the head of Stark Industries, pausing along the way to fall in love with Tony as well. Bright, loyal and honest, Pepper understands Tony Stark more than anyone and sometimes that can be both a worrisome and a dangerous thing.
COL. JAMES RHODES (RHODEY) [Don Cheadle]. Rhodey is the Liaison between Stark Industries and the U.S. Air Force. He is one of Tony Stark’s few trusted friends and, most of the time, has the patience to deal with the impulsive genius. Rhodey has a new suit of War Machine armor in a red, silver and blue patriotic design. When suited up, Rhodey becomes Iron Patriot.
MANDARIN [Ben Kingsley]. Mandarin is the sinister head of the terrorist organization known as The Ten Rings, from which all the acts of extreme terrorism plaguing the world appear to emanate. Although he is reclusive, Mandarin wields great power and makes his presence known by striking fear in the government and the populace through his brazen plans of attack.
ALDRICH KILLIAN [Guy Pearce]. Through his privately funded organization A.I.M., Aldrich Killian created a team to further research and develop the Extremis virus, which imparts unusual levels of strength and resiliency to human subjects.
DR. MAYA HANSEN [Rebecca Hall]. Beautiful Dr. Maya Hansen is a brilliant botanist whose work helped create the game-changing biological process called Extremis. Her discovery has the power to change the human body, but it could be very dangerous if misused.
HAPPY HOGAN [Jon Favreau]. Happy is the trusted bodyguard and chauffeur in charge of protecting Pepper Potts. More of a friend than an employee, Happy always has Tony’s back too, even when the eccentric billionaire doesn’t think he needs him. Steadfast and loyal, Happy would do anything to keep Pepper and Tony safe.
Opening across the Philippines on April 24 in IMAX 3D, Digital 3D and regular theatres, “Iron Man 3” is presented by Marvel Studios in association with Paramount Pictures and DMG Entertainment. Marvel Studios' President Kevin Feige is producing and Jon Favreau, Louis D'Esposito, Charles Newirth, Victoria Alonso, Stephen Broussard, Alan Fine, Stan Lee and Dan Mintz are executive producers. The film is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

NEW IRON MAN 3 IMAGES, TEASER POSTER AND OFFICIAL TRAILER
Promotion for Iron Man 3 is going full overdrive with the release of a new teaser poster depicting billionaire, philanthropist playboy Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) about to wear his latest armor in front of the older armors.
News on the grapevine is that this new armor isn't the Mark VIII as I've previously mentioned. Rumor has it that the Extremis armor is actually armor # 47 (or 48 depending on your news source). This means between "The Avengers" and "Iron Man 3" Stark has created a lot more armors.

The Dictator Review
I never did like the Sacha Baron Cohen movies, but that was till I caught "The Dictator".
In the new movie Cohen plays the role of Admiral General Aladeen, a dictator of the North African country of Wadiya. He's a stereotypical dictator, orders people's execution and stuff like that. And just all the other dictators that have come and gone, he's also got his own little intricacies which gets shown prominently in the movie. He held his own Olympic games where he came out as a gold medalist and even won an award for a movie that he produced, directed and starred in.
What can I say, the movie was hilarious. Yes it was politically incorrect. It was just so politically incorrect that you just can't help but laugh. If you're used to seeing Cohen films then you would probably know what to expect. There's nudity and a lot of swearing and oh-so-wrong-but-its-so-funny moments.
The great thing about The Dictator is that while you've seen some of the funny stuff of the film on all the trailers, it still yields a few surprises here and there. I'd like to cite on good example. Remember that scene where we see Aladeen finishing up on Megan Fox? It's actually somewhere in the plethora of trailers that came out for the film...
Well that scene was funny but when you see the film, you'll laugh even harder at what happens next...
One gripe I have with the film comes Ben Kingsley. Why oh why do they always cast him as the bad guy, the uncle with the schemes (re: Prince of Persia). Really, do we really need to see a great actor just reduced to being typecasted as a villain all the time?
Anyway aside from that its fun to watch The Dictator. I'm pretty sure the plot is all the same, deposed royalty starts living a life with commoners and the next thing you know he gets the chance to be back on the game now with some weird enlightenment ideas hovering over him.
The best things about the film is that its not apologetic about the jokes and puns that they make. Each and every racial slur or name calling or stereotyping was done with the notion of insulting and make fun. From stuff like calling a black African American a "sub-Sudanese" to even mocking Filipinos, its all there.
You might be looking down at the films done by Cohen but for this one, its got some modern day sensibilities in it. It shows just how much paranoid America is, how racist and how egotistical they can be. John C. Reilly's appearance while short was also "colorful" to say the least. I was actually impressed with Aladeen's dialogue towards the ending where he publicly disses the democracy and America in general.
It's not really just the Americans and other democratic countries that gets dissed in this picture. Even middle eastern stuff gets lampooned a lot in the film. Heck even nature lovers and the modern day "tree huggers" all get their share of aping. At the end of the day however its all just for fun.
Yes being that this is another Sacha Baron Cohen movie, you should definitely come into the movie theater armed with some guts and the stomach to survive some scenery. Without spoiling too much of the plot and the really good "bits" in the movie I can totally be honest about this and say that you should steel yourself.
The movie is rated R so you might want to bring the missus and just leave the kids at home.
I'm giving The Dictator a 3.5 out of 5 mainly because I really felt that Aladeen's character could have been given added flesh. The humor is good considering that this is from the same guy who did that awful Bruno movie a couple of years back.
For this review, I'd also like to thank my new friends from SOLAR-UIP for the invitation as well as to the kind folks at the Gateway mall where the advance screening was held.
And just before I end this review, let me give you a scene from Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby starring Will Ferrell who goes up against you guessed it, Sacha Baron Cohen.

| Honestly kahit itabi mo si Megan Fox sa panget na tulad ni General Aladeen she still looks hawt! |
