Cosplay for the Day - Jessica Nigri as Charizard

US cosplayer Jessica Nigri is apparently far from done cosplaying as fan-favorite Pokemon. We last saw her as a cleavage bearing Slowking and now, here she is again as Charizard.

Linda Le as Psylocke!

Here's another fab cosplay photo by Jay Tablante featuring the beautiful Vampy Bit Me aka Linda Le as Psylocke.

Currently Jay's got three Psylocke's under his belt. The very first one was with actress Bubbles Paraiso, second (and one of the most famous) was the Uncanny X-Force version of Psylocke done with Jinri Park and now this.

The fun thing? No matter how many more Psylocke cosplay shoots he plans on doing, it'll still be awesome.

Shiela Millete Navarro as Kanu Unchou from Ikki Tousen

Our cosplayer for the week (week na, not month) is Ms. Shiela Millete Navaro who cosplays as Ikki Tousen's resident bad-ass Kanu Unchou. Photos were from different photographers while the swimsuit Kanu-chan was taken by Marinel Marcelo.

I've been running to Shiela for a few years now and she's gone through leaps and bounds promoting the craft (and looking great doing so) and she's recently done non-cosplay shoots too.

Cosplay for the Day: Angel M. as Melty Granite

Cosplay for the Day is back folks!!!! And this time I promise to religiously post a cosplay photo (preferably local but not always). For the first foray, here's cosplayer Angel Montecarlo as Melty Granite from the game Shining Hearts.

Melty Du Granite (メルティ・ド・グラニテ) is a "tsundere " witch living apart from society in the game, Shining Hearts. Apart from the protagonist working at the bakery, she oppositely experiments and researches for the tastiest ice cream.

Melty has a long, wavy white hair. She has purple eyes. She wears a typical witch's hat with soft pink frills and a big hot pink ribbon on the side. A thin white bow with a heart-shaped ornament is tied on the tip of the hat. She also wears a pair of small heart-shaped earrings. Her black dress is a shoulder-off and sleeveless model, with tutu skirt. The front bodice of the dress is almost shaped like a corset. Underneath the black dress' skirt also a few layers of soft pink frills. She also wears black gloves that reaches the upper part of her arm with white criss-cross lining. On her feet she wears white sandals/shoes, also with criss-cross design. She wears black garters on her legs, with black ribbon.

Rule 63 Cosplay Dayna Baby Lou as Terry Bogard

Cosplayer Dayna Baby Lou reinterprets SNK mainstay Terry Bogard in a rule 63 twist.

I think this was a smart call. She's blonde and does justice to the Fatal Fury star. Heck she even got the cap right and the gloves down pat.

If I have any concern with the cosplay though, it's got to be the ummm... midsection. It's just too big. If Mai Shiranui was there, she'd probably be jealous of the legendary lone wolf. Or maybe not since Mai really just sports huge knockers.

It sucks though that the logo didn't appear on the final poster, but as Jim Rhodes in Iron Man once said, "Next time baby". The Cosplay Themes at Philippine Fashion Week - Weak?

Today one of the more interesting topics that anime geeks are talking about are those pseudo cosplay stuff that models wore during this year's Philippine Fashion Week. Let's take a look then I'll give my two cents.

Baby Doll from Sucker Punch

So as I was saying, the ramp models that appeared for Dickies got some people riled up because it's obviously cosplay but at the same time NOT cosplaying. Get my point? Take this guy that did Final Fantasy VII's Vincent Valentine:

Brownie points for brandishing what looks like Death penalty while walking down the catwalk. However I'm not so happy seeing a couple of missing elements that makes the model really get that Vincent vibe. The bandana is missing, the necklace and a whole lot more.

Myrtle Sarrosa Seems Confused if She's Wonder Girl or Wonder Woman

Check out this cover photo from one of the many facebook accounts/ Fan pages for Pinoy Big Brother winner and cosplay cutie Myrtle Sarrosa. She seems to be confused whether she's supposed to be Wonder Woman or Wonder Girl.

Alodia Gosiengfiao as Lynn Minmay

Robotech / Macross fans should take a look at this amazing piece done by Jay Tablante featuring cosplayer Alodia Gosiengfiao as galactic songstress Lynn Minmay, protagonist Rick Hunter's main love interest.

Pretty impressive CG background for this shot. At the moment I'm actually wondering what the compositing process was for the elements here such as the backdrop and the exterior (I'm assuming this is only one part of the battleship that is the Super Fortress). Oh Alodia looks kawaii (as usual).

Rule 63 Squall Leonheart Cosplay

I always wondered what Squall Leonheart would look like when he's following Rule 63. And now I get the answer through this cosplayer's interpretation of the famous Final Fantasy VIII hero heroine.

Riki LeCotey as Cloak in New Cosplay by Jay Tablante

Again Jay Tablante shows us why he's the foremost cosplay photographer with this new cosplay masterpiece featuring cosplayer Riki LeCotey aka Riddle.

Riki cosplays here as Dagger while Alvin Aguilar plays the mysterious Cloak from the classic 80s duo "Cloak and Dagger". Mind you they were once part of Norman Osborn's Dark X-Men during the Utopia saga before returning back to New York. The duo also figured into a recent Wolverine adventure where the feral mutant battled the resurrected Sabretooth and the mysterious Romulus.

Good work on this one Jay. Totally floored with this piece.
