Will Nick Fury Die in Captain America: The Winter Soldier?

The second TV spot for Marvel Studios' Captain America: The Winter Soldier is giving us the idea that Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) will most likely die in the movie.

Watch TV Spot # 2 for Captain America: The Winter Soldier below:

He said it. He actually implied that Jackson's Nick Fury dies. But that didn't happen in the comic book version. Also I'm counting how many movies has Jackson appeared as Nick Fury and it doesn't make sense. :(

But truth be told, it's really unlikely that they'd be taking out Nick Fury so early in the game. Marvel knows that Fury's appearance holds cohesion for the Marvel Cinematic Universe so why are they planning to take him out? Agent Coulson's role has been diminished since Marvel's The Avengers so now more than ever we need Fury.

Still I'd watch this badboy. I'm already rooting to see "The Twins"

Captain America: The Winter Soldier opens April 2 and distributed locally by Walt Disney Studios.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier Superbowl Trailer

Marvel Studios has a sure winner this year with the release of the second trailer for the film "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" starring Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/ Captain America.

SYNOPSIS: After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy—the Winter Soldier.

2014 Marvel Comics Event Centers on Death of Uatu the Watcher - Original Sin

Jason Aaron and Mike Deodato Jr. will be up next to bat for the Marvel Comics event book for 2014 entitled "Original Sin"

CBR reports that this is going to be thematically different from past events mainly because its a murder mystery. The original Nick Fury will show up once again (last seen in Age of Ultron) and acts as detective. The report goes on with naming the main characters for the story who will be joining Fury in solving the murder:

Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, The Punisher, Emma Frost, Ant Man, Doctor Strange, and Black Panther. (the last three kinda reminds me of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's assumed phase 4 movies)

In the span of four months, we'll be seeing how this occured and the massive fallout. Remember, The Watcher keeps track of everything everybody in the 616 does, which will lead in to ORIGINAL SIN # 0 by Mark Waid and Jim Cheung.

Original Sin

And it seems that this went under the radar because the first legit teaser came out in November 2013 in the form of a postcard from the House of Ideas.

Bad Ass Ultron Minimate Fig Coming AGE OF ULTRON Minimates Box Set

OK let's all admit that AGE OF ULTRON was a huge disappointment and was just Marvel's greedy way of selling more books and releasing Angela on the 616 but they it also did create one of the most terrifying designs for the robotic villain ULTRON and now it's crossing over to the Marvel Minimates toy line.

Thank you ART ASYLUM and DIAMOND SELECT TOYS for making this figure see the light of day. It's even more impressive once you see how everything just snaps on the base figure. Check out the design sheet for this nifty figure.

Then there's also that equally badass ANGELA minimate figure which would probably make her creator Neil Gaiman very, very happy.

Oh and they also have grizzled Nick Fury (who was never de-aged because there was no Nick Fury Jr. running around).

And to round up the set, oh goody, another Iron Man/ Tony Stark figure (like we really need another one).

And here's a group shot for the set which will be coming out next year...

And if you're looking for a Wolverine figure, you should be happy to note that they will have one based on the Canuck's appearance in AOU. However, the sad part is that it will be an exclusive for Toys R Us. And it'll come with the army builder which happens to be the gold Ultron drone.

SHIELD Agent Coulson to Debut in Battle Scars # 6

One of the integral parts of Marvel's The Avengers is none other than SHIELD agent Phil Coulson or popularly known as just Agent Coulson. We've always wondered where they guy was in the 616 Universe and USA Today just spoiled the news that he will be debuting in the pages of Battle Scars # 6.

In the book which comes out today in your local comic stores, Coulson appears to be the right hand man of Johnson who is poised to take over the role of a newly established SHIELD.

For those who have not been reading their comic books (shame on you) Battle Scars protagonist Marcus Johnson has been revealed to be the biological son of a very white Nick Fury, making him Marcus Fury. This happened after he meeting up with several Marvel characters including Captain America, Deadpool, Taskmaster and his father himself.

As for SHIELD, it seems like Captain America won't be the world's top cop anymore as he's also handling leadership duties as the de facto leader of the main Avengers team.

Check out the one page preview of the 616 appearance of Agent Coulson after the cut.

How Marvel Cast The Avengers

Completing the award-winning cast of “ Marvel’s The Avengers” proved to be a breeze for the filmmakers. “One of the great things when you make a film that’s been set up like this is that you start the casting process 80% done,” informs producer Louis D’ Esposito.

Leading the cast are Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Tom Hiddleston, with Stellan SkarsgÄrd and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.

Stan Lee Talks About Marvel's The Avengers Movie

The Avengers writer and Marvel Age instigator Stan Lee shares his sentiments about the upcoming film "The Avengers" which will be released in the Philippines on April 25.

the-avengers-thor-chris-hemsworth

With the successful launching of the “Iron Man” franchise in 2008, the first hints for what would be Marvel’s most ambitious new franchise to date began to surface— bringing together its beloved characters in one film for “Marvel's The Avengers,” the holy grail of the Marvel Universe.

The idea for “Marvel's The Avengers” first surfaced during the production of “Iron Man” when producer Kevin Feige had a notion that S.H.I.E.L.D. could be part of both “Iron Man” and “The Incredible Hulk.”

Meet Ultimate Spider-Man's Supporting Cast

Disney XD's Ultimate Spider-Man TV series is about to be released and to build up more hype, Marvel has released new images for Peter Parker's super powered supporting cast.

Luke Cage

In the TV series, Luke Cage reverts to his old school code name of Power Man and will be part of the teenage class that SHIELD will be teaching to be the next generation of metahuman heroes.

(Being that Brian Michael Bendis is lending a helping hand with the development of the stories for this, we should be expecting Luke to make an appearance.)
